TommyTL
I've toyed with GECK for about 6 months now and haven't even bothered to learn how to add water or grounds to my interior. Now I can't find any tutorials on how to do it and I can't do it by tinkering either. If somebody could kindly tell me how water and terrains work then that would be appreicated. This is with interiors by the way. :wallbash:
ElijahHouck
As far as I know you can't add landscape to an interior. For the water, just put some Placeable Water down.
TommyTL
Thanks for this... now... what about skys? Blue skys and giving the water a texture (dirty water) to simulate lake/ocean water in the exteriors.

TommyTL
I'm not wanting to make a whole new world space. Can somebody tell me how to use placeable water? I understand you place it... obviously... but what about textures, swiming, drinking, etc.?
ElijahHouck
Well, as long as you drag it into the interior, it's swimmable and drinkable. But for reflections and refractions, read the link I posted up there- it explains a lot ;) .Blue skies, though, is a bit more complicated. You'd have to make a new skyplane with a custom sky texture. (a skyplane is simply a mesh with a rounded or flat surface with a sky texture)
TommyTL
It's not that I need a blue sky. I just want the same sky that is from the wasteland.
ElijahHouck
Hmm, well the default skyplanes look kind of like it. When you add the skyplane you want, make sure you make them have some sort of Exterior Light Emittance, so it looks lit up like the sky outside. "CapitalWastelandBorderRegions" seems to do nicely for most skyplanes.

arachnidzone
For a proper sky right click on your exterior in the 'Cell View' list, then click the 'Lighting' tab in the box that appears, in the 'Lighting' options theres a tick box 'Behave like Exterior', tick it and pick an exterior climate from the drop down menu. If you have already done this then feel free to tell me to shut up!
