bluetom
Sorry, I may be breaking some forum etiquette by asking a potentially stupid question, but here it goes-- So I'm trying to change the texture on a weapon to my own custom texture, in this case, I want to change the texture of the Combat Shotgun.Using photoshop (and a plugin that lets me edit and save dds files,) I opened the old Shotgun texture, did the color changes (made it all blue and gold, just as a test), and saved it out as a new texture. It's NTTX 3 (I think thats what it is called... begins with N ends in 3. Wiki said to do so) and gave it a Minmap of 9. I made a texture set with the new texture, and applied it to my new shotgun static model. Assigned that model to my new weapon ("Fancy Shotgun"), and dropped it in the editor. Yay, it looked correct in the editor. Shotgun was blue and gold, just like my modded texture. I opened up the game, though, and the gun was made of some chameleon like texture. If I was in first person, the texture would be the same as my clothes. If I was in 3rd person, it would take on the texture of whatever I was looking at.While a chameleon gun is cool, its not really the end result I was going for. Anyone have any idea where I could have gone wrong here? I really want to get into doing some serious modding, but I keep getting caught up on these little things.ANY help would be appreciated, thanks! = )
