Problem with Nifskope (again :D )

Now that I have pretty much completed my model for my custom weapon, I wanted to change the texture , too.

I use the hunting rifle for main body and at first I just changed brightness and contrast. But now I want, that the main part of the hunting rifle texture has a completely new texture. I downloaded one from cgtextures.com and made it a bit darker. Then I only applied it to those regions I wanted it to be on (the wood part of the hunting rifle), using the lasso and just deleting the right parts.

I put both levels (dont know what exactly it´s called in the english gimp) together, and saved it as a dds file.

Now I open nifskope and wanted to apply the new texture to my weapon, but my weapon just stays white.

What can I do? It works just fine when just editing the brightness, but now it´s not....whats wrong?

The Texture Path is Data/Textures/Weapons/Remington700Tactical/1stpersonremington700tactical.dds

What do you mean by "how is it listed in nifskope"? I assigned it under "Nitristrips"-"BSShaderPPLightingProperty"-"BSShaderTextureSet" and then assigned my texture to the fisrt one in list and for the second one I assigned the normal map.

What Version should I save it? When saving it with GIMP, there appears the dialogue "Save as .dds" and for compression I chose none ad foramt I took default...I havent checked "generate Mipmaps" neither. It worked well with the other texture, but is there something I should do different?

Does the texture work ingame?

If that's the case, the reason your model is just white in NifSkope is because you most likely haven't setup NifSkope correctly to render the textures. To do this simply select settings under the render menu and click the big, fat button labeled "auto detect game paths" and it should find the correct texture path and the model should appear textured in NifSkope.
