gpstr1
well i fenced 1100 gold and im waiting for the argonian dude... :unsure:Open up your quest menu, then open the quest marked "Independent Thievery." Do you have the entry that starts with "I've reached my goal. I have fenced 700 gold worth of goods?" Just a simple yes or no, then we'll go on from there.... gpstr1
Where, specifically, have you been waiting? *edit* Yes-- we can all see that you're frustrated. See though-- the thing is that if you just post, for instance, that you're waiting for Amusei and he hasn't shown up, nobody knows how to help you. We need to know EXACTLY what quest stage you're at, where you are, what you've done, what you haven't done, what sort of messages the game has given you. Without that information, there's no way that anyone can figure out what the problem is, and it really doesn't matter how frustrated that might make you. So.... you know.... just sort of ease off, take your time, explain exactly where you are and what you've done and maybe someone can figure out what the problem is. :)

gpstr1
ok... im at the end of turn a blind eye and ive got the reward but the quest hasent closed (may be the problem)I'd about guarantee that that's the problem. From the UESPWiki entry for Turning a Blind Eye: If you talk to the beggars after returning the stone to the Gray Fox, rather than before, Amusei may never come for the next quest and you may not be able to do quests for the Thieves Guild ever again. * On the PC, you can fix this glitch by opening the Console and typing in setstage TG08Blind 50 This will place you at the next stage with a message telling you that the Gray Fox will be contacting you soon. * On the PC, another way to fix this bug is to use the console command player.placeatme 0003563B. This will place Amusei directly in front of you. If "Turning a Blind Eye" is in your completed quest menu, Amusei should then tell you that the Gray Fox has a message for you. * On Xbox 360, there is no fix for this bug. The only way to resolve it is to load an earlier save and do the mission again.I'm not sure though what "beggars" this refers to. Maybe the priests that are outside of the Temple of the Ancestor Moths? You do have to talk to them to get directions to the catacombs...... Are you playing on a PC or a console? *edit* Ah ha! I still don't know what "beggars" the above might be referring to, but as near as I can see, in order to finish the Turning a Blind Eye quest, you not only have to return the Savilla Stone to the Gray Fox, but have to pick up the paper called "Instructions: The Gray Cowl" from a trunk you pass on your way out of the Temple, which will create a new conversational topic with the Gray Fox, which topic you have to discuss. You might check to see if the Gray Fox is still in Bruma....

ipegot
The note in the temple, as far as I know, is not required for anything. However; it does open a dialogue option with the Gray Fox about the cowl it doesn't impact the next quest. The last time I did this quest I picked up the note, next time I wont to see what happens. gpstr1
I'd guess then that not getting the note (or, more likely, not discussing it with the Gray Fox) is the problem. From the UESP entry, the stage of the Turning a Blind Eye quest at which the Gray Fox pays you doesn't complete the quest, but the entry for the stage that does complete it is blank. They just mention the note in passing. On the Wikia page, it says to take the stone and the note back to the Gray Fox to complete the quest. I remember I noticed when I played it through that the note is a quest item (and a perpetual one at that, but that's a different issue), but it didn't seem to start any quests, so that must be what it is-- it's necessary to end that quest. So yeah-- go back and get the note (which at least will give you another chance at the priest in the last room, since he respawns and he always has a nice ring or amulet on him), then take it to Bruma and hopefully the Gray Fox is still there so you can ask him about the Gray Cowl and (hopefully) complete the quest. If he's not, then I think the only thing you can do is go back to your last save before Turning a Blind Eye and do it over again. Hope it all works out..... *edit for ipegot* I didn't think that the note was necessary either, since, as you say, it only opens up a new conversational option with the Gray Fox, but I did think it was odd even then that it's a quest item. Though the whole thing's a bit unclear, if it's necessary to pick it up and get that conversational option in order to finish the quest, that would explain both why it's a quest item and why acidl's quest didn't close, even though he delivered the stone and got paid. I really don't know though-- I didn't have any problem with it when I did the quest and neither of the wiki entries I found really explained it. That's just the answer that seems to make the most sense. The ways of Oblvion are often obscure.........
