*sigh*

Remember-- we need real information in order to help you.

So-- you got the papers. And you went back to Bruma and the Gray Fox was still there? Is that right? And you talked to him about the Gray Cowl? Is that right? Did doing that close the Turning a Blind Eye quest or is it still listed on your active quests? Did the Gray Fox leave the house in Bruma after you talked to him or is he still sitting in the chair?

And where are you waiting? It's easiest to catch up with Amusei in the IC-- he comes in through the Talos Plaza gate and circles the city.

oh and i found that i talked to a beggar about the ancestral monks and i found i got a quest update...

any thing on that/?

Umm yeah.

If you go back a few posts (I just sort of assumed you were actually reading them all along), you'll find this quote from the UESP wiki:

If you talk to the beggars after returning the stone to the Gray Fox, rather than before, Amusei may never come for the next quest and you may not be able to do quests for the Thieves Guild ever again.

* On the PC, you can fix this glitch by opening the Console and typing in setstage TG08Blind 50 This will place you at the next stage with a message telling you that the Gray Fox will be contacting you soon.

* On the PC, another way to fix this bug is to use the console command player.placeatme 0003563B. This will place Amusei directly in front of you. If "Turning a Blind Eye" is in your completed quest menu, Amusei should then tell you that the Gray Fox has a message for you.

* On Xbox 360, there is no fix for this bug. The only way to resolve it is to load an earlier save and do the mission again.

I have no idea-- I don't remember talking to any beggars in that quest, either before or after talking to the Gray Fox, so I really can't say. Although I guess I must've done it, since I didn't have any problem with getting the next quest. I didn't even look for Amusei-- I went back to the IC to sell my loot, and when I was coming out of one of the shops he just appeared and started talking.

Sorry about the saved game, but at this point, especially since it still hasn't closed the last quest even though you seem to have done everything possible, I'd say that it's broken, and redoing the quest is your only choice.

And yeah-- you should always make a new save right before you start a quest, then use quicksave often while you're doing it, just so that if something goes wrong you don't have to go too far back to start over.

I learned that one the hard way myself..........
