RandomArt
You know you can only mod PC games, right?
The1BigBoss
Yea I know, I have both versions, I bought the pc one specifically to mod. Anyways, I have Bartholm, and its not that great. All the quests take a little more a minute to finish. Im looking for something really big with somewhat of a story with it. Mako Dawn Mako Dusk looks amazing but its not finished yet :(
Vagrant0
All the quests take a little more a minute to finish. Im looking for something really big with somewhat of a story with it. Mako Dawn Mako Dusk looks amazing but its not finished yet :(That's pretty much the story of any kind of mod like that. Those mods which aren't that large are done, but don't offer much content, those mods which are large never get done because they take years to complete. Blame it on the lazy, self-centered, uppity types who refuse to help out on those large projects, and offer to help only so that they can get a peek at those unfinished mods. Been working on a large mod for some time now, and although I can do quests, NPCs, and other stuff, most of my time spent working on the mod is doing stuff like cluttering interiors, building simple dungeons, and other minor stuff that anyone who has made a house mod could do. I cannot begin to describe how much a project like mine would benefit from having a few dedicated persons who are willing to learn and have some very basic CS experience helping out. But, people who offer to help tend to vanish as soon as they get the mod to look at, and have been given a basic task (which ends up with me wasting a month or so waiting for them to respond). Becoming more and more discouraged each and every time. And from what I've heard from other large projects, this is normal. So blame those kinds of people for never seeing a large mod get anywhere. The1BigBoss
Wow, I see. I can see how big mods are "lacking" due to not enough help and so forth. Wish I could help you with yours but I dont know anything about modeling scripting pretty much the things you need to know to mod. I only know how to get them to work on my oblivion and even that isnt all the time lol.
JCP768
Integration is about the biggest quest mod, and towards the end you create a town. After creating the town there are then at least 8 quests starting in the town. The town can be seen(*spoiler warning*) . It's not exactly "BIG!" seeing as how you in one way or another recruit everyone there, but this allows for the populace to have a greater individual personality. You don't see any of the quests in the video because it was just a preview and quests are a bit too spoilery. From the spoiler file I can tell you that: 1(or 2) is a minor riddle quest.1 is a quiz/monster kill quest1 is simply finding something in the town2 are collection quests2 are rather complex and hard to explain.1 really long and complex romance which the last 50-80% of takes place in the town. The town quests were mostly just add-ons and clean up so that it wasn't just "Hey! now you got a town! and this is the end... :( " Windfall is a very good quest mod. Adds a new island world space with a town on the edge of rebellion. You can pick a side, do some sidequests, decide what happens in the end. Also has a nice "non-violent necromancers" side storyline. Vagrant0
but I dont know anything about modeling scripting pretty much the things you need to know to mod. That's kinda the point I was attempting to get across, and the thing which many people don't seem to understand when they see a large WIP. Often, large mods which actually have any shot of being made, already have those more advanced things covered, and really, the thing they are lacking is just the manpower to take care of all the minor stuff like positioning clutter and statics. If you've completed the beginner tutorials on using the CS, and are willing to learn a bit, chances are that you have enough skill to help with those kinds of projects. Not all mod work requires scripting or modeling.
RandomArt
I'm working on a big city mod that I've started recently, it's my project to teach myself how to use the CS, so if you have any specific things you like to see in city Mods, I would appreciate if you'd drop by and give me some suggestions. http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?showtopic=145298 Right now it's just an unrefined exterior, but I'm refining and cluttering right now, the to-do list goes on, eventually ending in the addition of, hopefully, many quests. octavius243
Try Windfall. It has both quality and quantity in abundance.
