chrisplosion
Ok, first off this is my first custom mesh/texture. I used BLENDER to make the mesh and texture. I used GIMP to convert texture to .dds. I made a simple 3d shape to try to get used to the programs. So when I open up the .nif file in Nifskope it shows the model with the texture on it. When I goto the geck to make a new object and load the .nif, it shows it with no texture. Yes I know I can make a new texture and link it that way in the GECk but when I open up other .nif files in, they are already linked with the textures. So I need to know how to link the mesh and texure without making a new texture in the GECk. This pic shows the model in the GECK with no textures.http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/im...-1250670383.jpg This pic shows the model in Nifskope with the textures.http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/im...-1250670446.jpg Im sure I missed a step somewhere but I don't know which... :wallbash:
neunen
in nifskope is the texture path listed as: textures\yourfolder\texture.dds, with the root textures folder there? if you use the browse to file button (purple flower) in nifskope, it wont add that root textures\ folder, but the geck still needs it

neunen
when you expand the texture list in nifskope, make sure that they says textures/chrisplosion/texture.dds because if you just hit the browse button and select the file, nifskope will list it as chrisplosion/texture.dds which is fine for nifskope but not for the geck. hope that helps

neunen
yep thats most likely your problem there.double click where it says shape1.dds and change that to: textures\chrisplosion\shape1.dds and if youre not using a normal map because youre just testing the mesh, you can get rid of the second entry because thats where that would go.. ie textures\chrisplosion\shape1_n.dds lemme know if that works for you
