ThePearl
Hello! Alright, so I am pretty new to the TES CS, and I have some questions: 1. Nvm, found a tutorial 2. When I close down TES CS it says "ModelLoader still has <number> NIF files. Continue playing? "Yes to all" will disable all Warnings this session." and the options are "Yes, No, Cancel" What does this mean? I just hit No and it closes. 3. Can I just make the NPC travel from one place to another and it will automatically find it's way as long as only one "teleport door" is in the way. Say I want an NPC to go from inside a house, out and walk on the road to the other side of the map (and enter another house is possible), then can I just make him go to the house and he will magically find his way over there? So, help is appreciated!
David Brasher
The map grip of Tamriel has Weye by the Imperial City as 0, 0. +Y values are to the north. -Y values are to the south. -X values are to the west. +X values are to the east. I have heard that there is distortion, and the grid does not use perfect squares. I find the easiest way to use the grid system is to avoid using it. Instead, I go to the nearest town, cave, or other landmark in my render window, and then slew or straff from there to where I am trying to go. I believe there are some maps you could refer to on the Internet. I have heard of them, but have not found them yet. If you ever get a "Continue playing?" message, you should say yes. If you say no, you might lose your work. (More appropriate wording would probably be "Continue working?" "Continue running program?" or "Continue modding?") The ModelLoader error messages seem to be totally harmless. In fact, they may be a bug in the CS. That error message information might be interesting and useful to someone somewhere, but it does not seem useful to modders. NPCs can travel quite well (If they don't glitch.) There are odd quirks I cannot understand. I would say that what you are trying to do should work, but last night I was totally amazed to find things not working. I have one NPC who can find me anywhere in Tamriel when she comes looking for me. She can be inside a shop in the Imperial City worldspace when she starts looking for me. She might find me deep in a cave full of monsters by Leyawiin, in an interior cell entered from the Tamriel worldspace. That is at least 3 load doors she has gone through. So I try to do something similar to another NPC. And she won't even go through one load door to find me. So what you are doing should work. Put in in a mod and test it. But test it before you get too far along, because it might not work. Then you will have to make changes.
ThePearl
-join, long message- Thanks! That's pretty amazing, but I'll make sure to test out everything before I add more stuff in case it works/doesn't work!
Eoa
The Nexus has a file called OB Cyrodiil Cell Grid Map. You can see them on the Images tab, but the download has higher resolution versions.
