rad666a
While it isn't surprising that Fallout 3 crashes from time to time, the manner that it is crashing on me is a bit odd. Whenever I exit Rivet City, the Broken Bow, or Anacostia Crossing station the game crashes. This has happened before with other cells, where you enter a cell and the game crashes, but the odd part is, it ONLY crashes when I try to enter the cell using one of those doors. Fast Travel or just walking into the cell does not trigger the crash. The only thing I changed was I set my TimeScale to 10 and the only mods I added before the crashes happened were the "RefurbishDLC" by JustinOther. The crashes persisted we I tried disabling these mods Any ideas?
mechine
yeah corupt save games shady installs mod conflicts tons of other stuff too Start by starting a new game, go to the place an see if it does it again then turn off mods an see if it does it again then turn off half the mods to narrow it down to half, or 1/2, 1/4, 1/8 and such You could master update with FO3edit, no risk as it also has master restore you could look into the purge cell buffers mod, they say it helpped on oblivion Update you grapics drivers, a while back there was a driver that would cause a hard as nails crash upon exit of megaton, because of ~ draw distance, or something defrag the hard drives Tweek the game via the old tweek guide\http://www.tweakguides.com/Fallout3_1.html Turn off AA an AF, or well launch the fallout3 default launcher an turn off AA an AFfallout 3's AA an AF sucks, when I can I force AA an AF via my grapics cardwhich also allows me to pick a much higher AA an AF setting while keeping the same performance FPS wise, Also turn AA an AF off altogether an try it see if it happeneds againwith the current save, it can get glitchy the first time you change a AA an AF settingmostly it's just when you go from a low setting to a max setting either forcing or via fallout 3simple fix, exit an reload eh? activate bullet time an go thru the door, see what happeneds... YAY FINALLY 400 POSTS I GET A LEVEL UP NOW PEOPLE CAN NOT LISTEN TO ME EVEN MORE THAN BEFORE WOO HOO hmmm you know each time you re-install fallout 3 it gets better in terms of performance and also the quality of mods you choose, whenever I get tired of it, I always install againjust to see how green the grass is on the other side. People are using that merged patch thingy from FO3edit to use mods that shouldn't work togetherI don't know how it works though, so I can't really help with it. I mean I don't use it, I haven't had a need for it. Geez open FO3edit in normal mode an look at the whole load order an how many errors there areit's not too hard to fix them, you can screw up though, so it's dangerous, I guess that's how you learnbut yeah you can fix stuff, or even make .esp use other .esp as .esm or masters, then the later .esp can use the same script for a super cool thing it added even though it got overwriten by another mod that conflicts with it, besides you getting a custom built version made to all work togeter, tons of work though.
