Trying to increase enchanting limits, not working

I'm trying to increase enchanting limits without much success. I downloaded "Mighty Enchants" which DOES raise the soul gem values. But when enchanting, it still has the same limits as before. Even though a grand soul gem now has 9,000. It still acts as though it is at 1600.

This is all made more difficult with trying to get used to Oblivion's system as oppose to Morrowind. There's no sliders or anything to see the problem. I just select an item of clothing, select a grand gem (now 9600), and choose, for instance, fortify magicka. It then adds 24, the same as it would in a normal 1600 gem.

I see no where to alter any of the choices.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have no idea how the enchantments on clothing work, nor how the mana limit on weapon enchantments work, but I know a workaround for weapons that may or may not work for apparell as well.

In the CS, take a look at the top menu. I believe under the "Gameplay" heading, you will see an option entitled "Magical Effects".

In this menu you can see all of the different magic effects in the game. (Including dummy ones and disabled ones.) Aside from some of the other things you can do in this menu, there is a heading entitled (Approximately.) spellmaking/enchanting factor. This setting determines the amount of mana it costs to create a custom/spell per point with this effect. Lower it and you will see custom spells with that effect decrease in mana cost and a higher capacity on weapons. Likewise there are also individual settings modifiers for spellmaking and enchanting, as well as many other things.

Disclaimer: Darastically lowering the mana cost of effects is most certainly unbalancing. I only suggest this because it definately increases the limit on weapons.

If someone can explain how the flat mana limit works and how apparell works (Or provide a link to a place that does), this above information will be rather irrelevant, unless you're going for a magic rebalance.
