NMM Error - Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

So, whenever I launch Nexus Mod Manager, it simply won't work and I get an error report and my Tracelog, however after searching the forums I can't find a fix for this particular issue.

However, whenever I run Nexus Mod Manager in Administrator it opens and I can disable/enable mods, modify my load order, but I cannot download any mods with the manager from the Skyrim Nexus. It doesn't give me errors, simply nothing happens other than an error report saying an instance of Nexus Mod Manager is already running. Any help and support is greatly appreciated.

 

Edit: Also, I feel I should add that I'm trying to update to the current NMM version, that being 0.48.1

I installed SKSE (using Ubuntu) and then NMM broke.
