Constant CTD

Hey everyone, I'm having some issues. I get constant CTD's, I loaded Tes5Edit, BOSS, and numerous other mods to get this to stop but nothing seems to work.

Mod Order:

Recognized Plugins:

  Reveal hidden contents

Unrecognized Plugins: (they always seem to work anyhow)

  Reveal hidden contents

Latest Papyrus File:

Any help and a general understanding what I should do is appreciated, thanks.

Use Pure Water or Water, not both.

Removed W.A.T.E.R, anything else I should do to get rid of errors and CTD's? Cause I still get them shortly after starting New Game (I'm not loading a save file since I constantly got CTD's during that time).

For god sakes, please use spoiler tags (not quote tags) to enclose your logs so they won't clutter the screen.

Sorry... Used Spoiler tags.

I'll wager there are a lot of different things contributing to your game instability (you should describe your CTDs in greater detail: when/where/what were you doing or what was going on), but two things to start:

1) go through the BOSS log carefully and look for any error messages that you need to attend to, for example:

  Quote

  • VanillaSnowWindyand150percentLessView.esp Active
    • Note: Obsolete. Update to latest version, MoreSnowWindyand150percentLessView.esp.

2) plugins not recognized by BOSS: you need to deal with them, either by checking to see where they should be loading, or uninstalling them so you don't have to sink time into this. Right now they are loading at the bottom of your load order and will override conflicting records of plugins loaded earlier.

While you are at it, provide the following information:

- have you tweaked the game ini files?

- are you using any mods that do not come with plugins and would not show up on a BOSS log, such as texture or body replacers?

- what is your system specs?

When I load a game, it's usually the exterior that crashes my game, but now whenever I make a new game, during or after Character Creation I just get a CTD. It happens when plugins load up, but that can be a different thing entirely.

The Unrecognized plugins I've been having are harmless (the Elin ones, at least), I say, I've been having them for a while before I went through numerous mod downloading sprees.

Reinstalled More Snow (was updated at 21 Jan 2014), which is linked to VanillaSnowWindyand150percentLessView.esp, but got the same Note message. I also don't understand what "Bash Tags" mean exactly, I got a handful in the BOSS list.

Found two, "Flying Dance Fix" and "NEWHAIRS", don't remember adding them so I removed them. So far, I don't see anymore mods that BOSS didn't detect

If you are CTDing at the character creation menu due to hair mods, try using the 'precache killer' (which you can find on SkyHair's download page).

If your CTDs are predominantly in the worldspace, try 'scaling back' and removing some of the mods that apply stress to worldspace stability. The first mod you should uninstall is 'SkyTest.' As the author states, this does not work well in a large load order, and when I had it (many versions ago), it was responsible for 90% of my worldspace CTDs.

If you haven't tweaked the game ini files, then it's fine. But if you have, I would recommend you delete them, and let the game generate new ini files on next launch. This will revert your ini settings to default game values. While default game ini settings are not optimized for 'performance' and are not always graphically 'pretty', they are optimized for game 'stability.'
