Doc Mitchell doesn't heal me

Alright, so here's my story. I'd started a new character, went about doing the shootout, siding with Ringo. I then went back to Doc Mitchell to get healed; he worked fine.

 

Then I went down to Primm and cleared out the first level of the hotel, got severely crippled, limped back to Doc Mitchell for heals, and he worked fine.

 

Then I went up and around to the Khans in the red canyon thing, making liberal use of my numerous explosives to crippled the cazadores before they could swarm and kill me. I eventually made it all the way to Violet's hangout before the many crippled limbs and concussion were too much, and I was out of Doctor's Bags and very close to overencumbered, even taking booze and steak to make the trip back.

 

When I finally limped my way back to Doc Mitchell, he was doing a sandbox thing: walking around his house, grabbing foodstuffs, and then returning to a chair and eating. Going through the dialogue, "Heal me pls" ends up with me giving him 75 caps and not getting anything for it. Removing addiction didn't work either. (I was addicted to alcohol at the time, having needed to chug it to keep moving)

 

So I opened the console, Disable and Enabled him, and tried again. No heals. Then I tried Kill and Resurrect. No heals. Finally, I coc'd to Novac and tried the doctor there—and I got healed perfectly.

I have a similar issue except that no doctor's will heal me (well, Usanagi and Doc Mitchell. I'll have to try the Novac doc). They'll take my caps but the doctor-heal-comment+animation+fadeout/fadein doesn't happen. Doctor healing worked fine early game and wasn't working at level 16-17. No mod changes occurred after game start. Thankfully I have Afterschool Special and bought the healing station, but still, having to go back to Goodsprings whenever I need my limbs healed is a major hassle.

 

I also would appreciate any help on this.

Okay, so updates—I've been playing around. Here's what I've done, all to zero success.

 

I've tried removing all of my 'bugfix' patches that mess around with doctor dialogue, to no success. (YUP, MMUE, etc)

 

I've tried adding another merge patch with the doctor dialogue and scripts copied from the FalloutNV esm at the bottom of my load order, which didn't change anything.

 

I've tried dis/enable, kill/res, but nothing has worked. It seems that the script to heal me just isn't firing, rather than the script being faulty.

 

Something noteworthy: I've got multiple crippled limbs, but I'm at full health when I tried these. Crippling myself even more with a mine doesn't seem to do anything.

 

Another noteworthy mention: healing rads at Doc Mitchell's seems to work, which I find weird.

 

If anyone has an idea of where the triggers could be for starting some of these scripts are in geck/fnvedit, that would be awesome.

FIXED. The problem is in MMUE, in the GSDocMitchellScript [sCPT:00107230], in Mission Mojave - Ultimate Edition.esp. Specifically, the logic only triggerest the actual healing quest (VDoctors) in a funky elseif condition that is apparently not being triggered reliably. I believe that the fundamental problem is some other module somehow disabling the fade to black, which MMUE relies upon to do it's healing mojo.

 

The quick fix which works for me is to copy the base GSDocMitchell script from FalloutNV.esm to some patch that loads after MMUE. I'm still not seeing a fade to black, but after 6 seconds, my character is fully healed anyway.

 

I will be posting a note to the MMUE thread about this problem.

Please note the date of the previous post, and see the Nexus "Terms of Service" about not resurrecting old threads. The primary reason is that the original thread participants are seldom still around, and it is unlikely that you have exactly the same setup. Details matter.

That said, are you using the update v12.1 (released 28 Aug 2015)? If that is the case, then start your own thread and Please provide ALL the information requested in the wiki "How to ask for help" article.

 

Or use YUP instead of MMUE (but not both because they conflict).
