t3hf4ll0ut
Whenever I try to Load a fallout 3 .nif I get a list of errors and the mesh is just a tiny circle. NifSkope has worked tons of times for me before and I can't seem to figure out why it's doing this now. Can somebody help me out?
roguehallow
You'll have to give us a little more information. Have you re-installed NifSkope or FO3 recently? Do you have the most current updated versions of those programs? Are there any other changes you've made to your computer recently?
t3hf4ll0ut
Nope. I've installed NifSkope and Fallout 3 countless times and it always worked. I've had Windows 7 for about a month and a half now. Nifskope = installed twice a monthFallout 3 = installed like four times a month
mechine
Seems kind of silly. "I installed fallout 3 countless times and it always worked." yeah we all know that isn't true, ask anybody. Go ahead we'll wait... Besides if it always worked, why install it countless times? Oh well there's really no helping us anyway. I would roll the dice an guess that errrrrrrrrr uhhhhhhhhh You got one of those jinxed meshes. I don't know if it's the way the person made it, or maybe did something afterwards to twart other makers from messing with it an re-distributing it, which is super lame. 75% of nexus is all cool an open source for the win (pro-shareware) Hackers unite free flowing data but then the other 25% is still three years old and they say "no you may not use my glock mesh" Even though the thing isn't animated, looks like a nightmare, and is otherwise un-useable. But hey that's all in the eye of the beholder I guess. Doesn't nifscope require *burp* uh... python or somethin, or is that blender? Maybe not though. I guess the root question/problem here is opening a fallout .nif Is it just one mesh that does it, or all meshes... Are the meshes from another mod (where the jinxed ones come in) Idk try opening a bunch of vanilla meshes. Take for example the H&K mark 23, it's not going to open with nifscope nor will just about any mesh in fook 1.6, it error's 10,000 times then crashes. Could be a windows 7 issue, I don't even know what windows 7 is yet. There's always that windows service that allows you to run as, or run in compatibility modewhich would probably be run in windows XP SP3 mode. There's a chance you got a botched download, or a download with corupt data, data losshappeneds all the time. Redownload reinstall... Sorry man, I'm just not getting any idears. If you installed NifSkope 1.0.9, you've installed the old version - you should have installed NifSkope 1.0.20 - sourceforge doesn't sort the versions right. Yes, a bit silly. :wallbash: Other than that, I doubt I can help.
FalloutRaven
Get NifSkope 1.0.21 from Niftools forums. I've had the same prob on previous versions.
t3hf4ll0ut
Thanks for your help, didn't realize I needed to do that. :thanks: Btw, I do expect you to believe it. Fallout 3 gets corrupted or damaged all of the time. NifSkope doesn't. Plus I format often.
