Download Mod but it doesn't end up in Plugin

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, I'm pretty new to Nexus Mod Manager and have downloaded some mods for Fallout New Vegas (Weapon Retexture Project - WRP - weapon_retexture_project_1dot95, PipBoy 3000 HD Retexture - PipBoy 3000 2K Retexture - NO Normals and EVE - Essential Visual Enhancements - EVE v1point15a Final) but after the Weapon Retexture Project - WRP - weapon_retexture_project_1dot95 and PipBoy 3000 HD Retexture - PipBoy 3000 2K Retexture - NO Normals install successfully and the green tick appears next to them and I go into the game, nothing has changed. When I download EVE - Essential Visual Enhancements - EVE v1point15a Final when I go into the game it goes half way to the menu before saying 'Fallout: NV is not responding' you close the program down. Can someone tell me how to get the mods working please? I heard that if the mod is successfully downloaded and ended up in the game it appears in the Plugins section on Mod Manager, can someone please help me get the mod into the Plugin section? Thanks!

Wow, that is difficult to read, you really should list the mods but not in a paragraph, LOL. The usual culprit of startup CTD is a missing master (ESM)

My suggestion would be to fire up the Mod Manager, then click on each of the ESPs to see the info pop up to compare with your ESMs enabling you to get the name of the master that is MIA so that you can get it.

you should get FNVedit aswell, bc helps alot with LO issues

an ESM is a master and is beholden to no other

Whereas an esp has to be connected to at least one ESM to be able to run .. ie FalloutNV.esm is all that you need activated to be able to run the game ... but all created esps & ESMs need to have FalloutNV.esm as their master bc that is what connects to all of the BSAs and whatnot in the data folder ... savvy?

your data folder holds all of these

First, try reading the mod description before installing - they usually tell you if the mod requires something else. Like a master besides the main game esm, or something like a script extender (NVSE for New Vegas)

If you have already made the mistake of installing a lot of mods without checking for the actual requirements, BOSS can find most missing masters as long as the mod is already in it's database.

yup what bben said --- take ur time -- not telling you how you should play ur game but experience it a little first to look at the game world then say ewww that looks knarly maybe I can find a better looking texture on the Nexus --- bc let me tell you once you start down that path it is really difficult to resist the urge to grab each & every shiny new object you encounter .... it's addictive so be careful

I have checked the mods I am using and I believe I have everything needed to run the mods and have downloaded BOSS. I bought Fallout NV primarily for one of the mods but when I started to play it I got sucked in and haven't attempted to mod it since. But with the Fallout Who Vegas Mod coming out soon I thought I would try to get things up and running.

oh definitely nothing at all wrong with that ... just saying don't overwhelm yourself ... I got stuff to beautify and make it more user friendly ...it's a different experience for every user and the way you play it once can be way different the second or third time around just by the build of your toon but my essential CORE mods always remain the same --- HUD, HD textures with LOD & enb support, bug fixes, optimization tools & CTD defense are part of my foundation. weapon & armor packs are secondary, who I want to play as (race) I'm geeking out here but you get my meaning... I hope.

suppose to be fun and not a chore ...
