lloydryan76 Posted September 1, 2009 Share Posted September 1, 2009 I got to thinking about what was missing from a single player game like Oblivion and I believe I have at least part of the answer. Competition! Sure, you got all kinds of bad and uglies trying to lop your head off or zap you or what have you, but, you haven't got anybody doing the same work AS you, trying to one-up you. What gave me this idea was the little kid from the pokemon games who is always popping up at opportune moments to engage you in a friendly competition. I think perhaps someone should create some sort of rival for the pc to compete with on occasion, perhaps even a mirrored copy of the pc or a magic doppleganger of some sort. He/she/it would pop up at certain times to mock the player or to challenge you to a fight, or even just to say hello in passing on the road, explaining that they have just saved Kvatch from a second daedric attack that you weren't aware of, wearing a nicer Kvatch cuirass than they gave you!!! I think elements like these would inspire a little passion, if even just to try to kill the guy, making the game just a teeny bit more fun. Have your way with it modder pplz. I am not capable of making such a mod, but if you are, and you want to, please let me know. I'd like to help in any way possible. Peace out! Im pretty sure the newest version of OOO has a number of others from groups of adventurers who are friendly to you to tomb raiders who arent that you occasionally see in other dungeons. They will fight your monsters and take your loot also if you let them. As far as a specific rival, Im not sure of any, though a quest mod centered around that concept might make for a fun one.
