Skree000
dont forget the FOV angle as well as the camera position... lower set cameras looking up give a more powerful feeling to the poser in the image, whereas higher cameras looking down give a diminuitive feeling. +1 to Carah, darker images with more contrast always look nice on most people ^_^
Aotlianna
A little lighting in the right place can make all the difference in the world.
Venetia_CV
You take a picture of yourself, look at your self in the mirror, look at yourself in another mirror, and another mirror, you'll notice that you look quite different, some make you look nice some make you look handsome and some make you look hideous. So the question is, how do you know which one is the same image that people perceive you?My friends know that I am caring and loyal. Everyone else deals with the 'attack at your owl peril' projection. And so while I have yet to befriend a mirror, they do tend to keep in line. -Kitten

I shall assume it was not my poor typing skills (owl instead of own) that left you sifting for meaning. Perhaps we can look at both your question and my perspective from a different, though mayhap equally abstract, angle. I was once quite young and wishful that my small hands and chest (and other places) would remain as they were. If I could only stay small, aging would be accepted in answer. Today my skin is scarred and less elastic. Injuries and years of hard wear have taken away my once soft, nimble, and pretty hands. And, well, as would regard my chest, the fight against gravity continues. My task is to learn and live and be happy. All that I am cannot be compressed into a fleeting reflection of my exterior. And what my fellow citizens will make of my manner or outward appearance is more their concern than mine. I ask only that my person and freedoms be respected. Here at 'Nexus' we have tremedously talented members that produce fabulous artwork pratically at a daily clip. But, what is really happening when we browse through the offerings or view top listed pieces? As we admire what is essentially an expressed composition in static form, it is the generous infusion of life into those pieces that will cause us to pause, ponder, and appreciate. The Mona Lisa's smile keeps her alive and relevant, even as the centuries pass. Let us too, in our static moments, be they photograph or reflection, remain in flux and motion and more in summation. -Kitten
