KingWrex
Hello all you awesome and very talented modders out there. I come to you with a humble request. Something that's always bothered me about Skyrim is the lack of shrines to the original nordic gods (Shor, Kyne, Tsun, etc..). So if it is possible could one of you guys make shrines for them? They can be scattered throughout Skyrim(preferred) or all located in one location if that's easier. Something I'd also like is the incorporation of the animal symbols for each of the shrines. For example Shor is represented by the serpent/snake, Kyne is represented by the hawk and so on and so forth. As for the blessings themselves I am not completely sure and I would love suggestions. I don't think it's good idea to use the same blessing as there Imperial counterparts considering the Nordic gods are quite different. Anyway if someone can pick this up I would greatly appreciate it and I know that there others who would love a mod like this as well.
RHodeidra
Hello all.I too would love to have a few small statues dedicated to the Atmoran/Norse depiction of the divines and maybe even some Daedra (for example, Herma Mora ? A hare! Go figure. Kirkbride is crazy. CRAZY LIKE A FOX (which incidentally is the depiction of http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Orkey)Thanks in advance, guys
Alexmancer
Well to be fair, Kynereth and Kyne are the same figure. It would be nice to see people that worshiped more of the Nordic pantheon though. The old gods type of thing. Though really, Talos is the most worshiped still. RHodeidra
This would predate Talos by quite a bit.
Alexmancer
That is why I mention it as 'the old gods'.
KingWrex
That is why I mention it as 'the old gods'. Well to be honest you can't even consider them old gods, while some Nords have adopted the Imperial pantheon to say that all Nords have forgotten the Nordic pantheon is silly. I'd say that the further North you went in Skyrim the less Imperial influence we should see in other words more Nords would stick to their previous cultural and religious practices. As for Kyne amd Kynareth they are distinctly different gods even though they share some similarities. Kynareth is the imperial sky goddess, she represents nature, and is associated with rain and wind. Kyne on the other hand is the warrior wife of Shor and as such a favorite goddess for Nordic warriors. She is the goddess of the hunt and storms, and most importantly she is the mother of all Nords having breathed them to life at the throat of the world. Nords who still support the "old ways" see Kynareth as shadow of what Kyne really is. This is why I would like a set of shrine for the Nordic gods. Talos is the most accepted gods by the Nords because Talos is seen as the hero god of mankind but also the god that took Shor's empty throne. Hell I could go on and describe all the Nordic gods and their differences from their Imperial counterparts that would make an absolutely massive post. KingWrex
Yup and this post is not about that, but about getting someone to make statues of them pretty please :DThis, I don't think it would be particularly difficult, and if it is please tell me that it's too difficult and complicated to do. SubtleNuance
Bumping out of Interest to try and revive this thread. I would also really like seeing some Old God worship, and I like what someone said about there being more piety towards the Old Ways the further North you went. Like changing the Temple of Talos in Windhelm to the Temple of Ysmir, Maybe even finding a cult worshiping Ysgramor or some such. It would be very interesting.
