JoshBadWriter
A few weeks ago I released my first mod, a quest mod called War Trash. I’m working on its sequel right now and I find myself in a bit of a jam. I put in a town but made the buildings un-enterable with the intention of making them enterable in the sequel. Unfortunately, I didn’t know what I was doing when I first started War Trash and I didn’t make it an .esm file. I had an easy time converting the .esp to .esm using FOMM, and I was able to use that as the master file to its sequel so I can edit the doors and things. When I was in the GECK everything looked normal and I was able to edit everything just fine. But when I jumped into the game to test it, I immediately saw that the terrain I’d flattened reverted back to how it was, and one of the houses I put in had completely vanished, leaving behind only a single door (that still worked). I went back into the GECK, and once again, everything seemed fine. I ran the game without the sequel, and found out that the problem still occurred, so it must have something to do with the WarTrash.esm file. I just don’t know what the problem is. I messed with the load order, checked the original WarTrash.esp, deleted the WarTrash.esm and made a new one but nothing worked. Does anyone know what’s up? Is there something wrong with my version of GECK or am I being an idiot?
rickerhk
use FNVEdit to set the esm bit. None of the other tools update the ONAM records that you need for worldspace overrides
JoshBadWriter
Thanks. That did solve my original problem, but now I have a new one. None of the voice acting works anymore, or lip files for that matter. I changed the voice file to .esm but that didn't work. I went back in the GECK and the pathways are exactly the same. jazzisparis
Make sure the folder containing the voice files in data\sound\voice is named exactly as your mod file. If you changed the file extension to ESM, you must change it there as well, then fix the voice files' paths in the GECK.
