Dragon The UnTamed
I have a small idea for Replace/Use new texture without (ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated) , but i DID NOT TEST IT .BACKUP THE FILES BEFORE WORKING UNPack texture.bsa , then replace & put the new texture the repack it to bsa and do the same thing for the meshes the bad thing : it will take long time . neok182
problem here is that if you want to remove a mod your screwed unless you kept all the original files. AII is the better way.
Baelkin
I'm with neok182 here - it's a really, really, really, really bad idea to go around messing with the vanilla .bsa files unless you are prepared to re-install the game every time you want to remove said mods. ArchiveInvalidated and other tools exist for a reason and in my opinion not using them is not taking advantage of the highly modular and adaptive file handling architecture of Fallout 3. Did I mention messing around with the vanilla .bsa files is a bad idea?
dylandingler
I tried this and it definitely doesn't work although I hear that you can do this to dlc. I wanted to see if i could nmc's texture pack in the bsa in the end I got a pink screen and no game. this probably could be fixed somehow but I doubt that I'm gonna figure it out. so until someone who knows what their doing tells people who don't know what their doing what to do I'm gonna have to live with the default fallout -textures.bsa file. Well if you do find out that you can alter Fallout -textures.bsa please send me a line so that I can give it a try.
Quetzlsacatanango
Just create a new esp with texture sets for the items you want to change.
