Daiyus
Dear all, I am in the process of making a crossbow overhaul module for my long term project "The Nexus-Powered Overhaul". The overall project has the aim to overhaul and update where necessary, and reintroduce as many traditional features that have been lost as possible. It's called "Nexus-Powered" because my core weakness is a lack of artistic talent. I can't model or texture to save my life, but I do have a fine eye for detail (I'm a Quality Control Technician by trade), therefore I repectfully request other authors to let me use meshes, textures, and sometimes scripts, to help me achieve my goal. So far I've managed to obtain permissions for many crossbows: Dragonbone, Daedric, Iron, Glass, Elven, Orcish, Nordic, Stalhrim, Ebony, and even a Nightingale variant (I'm sure you can all guess who provided most of these). I'm currently going through distributing these into custom leveled lists, and it's come to my attention I've missed an Imperial variant. Not wanting to release the mod without everything in it's place I really want to rectify this. Having scoured the Nexus I cannot find anyone who's made an Imperial crossbow, or even anything that looks like it could work as such. My request is basically three options: 1) Does anyone know of anything that could work?2) Could somebody with the ability kindly create one for me (full credits will be given)?3) Does anyone know of a decent tutorial of how I could do this myself (considering stickmen always come out wrong for me)? Thank you all for your time, Regards, Daiyus
Urwy
-snip-1) Does anyone know of anything that could work? -snip- Someone that has 3ds max could do some kitbashing between an ordinary crossbow, imperial sword, imperial armor and imperial shield to make it look more like it's an imperial item. -snip-2) Could somebody with the ability kindly create one for me (full credits will be given)?-snip-Sadly, this is where my usefullness is lost. My educational license on 3ds max has expired a long time back. And i have no clue if this is even possible using the old blender 2.49b workflows. (add to that the lack of experience in the older blenders) -snip-3) Does anyone know of a decent tutorial of how I could do this myself (considering stickmen always come out wrong for me)?-snip-I once did a crossbow mod. but i'm afraid i've got no idea as to which tutorial i used to learn it. Though i'm sure someone else might well be of help to you on this. :)
Manus812
I've requested for an imperial crossbow in the past, but no reply. Instead, i use http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/35992/? the Cherry color for the imperial red look.
Daiyus
Thanks for the tips and links guys. I'll see what I can do with regards to learning how to model (a long stretch considering I'm still learning basics in the CK), but maybe find a placeholder texture in the meantime (the cherry does look nice). I'm just really determined to have unique models for most of the range. The only duplicate so far is an iron retexturing of the steel, but that actually really suits it.
