GorrakTheOriginal
I am trying to play a grenadier, explosives type, but it is not going too well... When I use the Mercenary's Grenade Launcher or the normal Grenade Launcher the projectile is a very immersion breaking RED DIAMOND with a WHITE exclamation mark. Yes, this sounds like a missing mesh. Strange thing is that Thump Thump works fine. I was under the impression that they share ammo, but they must not share projectile meshes. I have located grenaderifleprojectile.nif but cannot locate a different one for Thump Thump, or the grenade launcher, to prove my theory and finally fix this. Yes I have archive invalidation. Yes I have all dlc. Yes I have been modding a while and this seems pretty odd to me. I must have missed something so please....HELP!!!

WhiskeyRiver2
Go into the GECK, find whatever weapon is having the problem. Double-click it, then once the new window loads, go to the Art and Sound tab. There should be a Projectile menu. Go into there and select whatever you want (or the default, if it was changed somehow). It should be something like "40mmGrenadeProjectile" if it's default. If that doesn't work (it damn well should though), then I don't know what the hell could work.
GorrakTheOriginal
at least this solution will establish a relationship between weapon/projectile. If it does not solve it at least should point me in the right direction (as in what exactly is missing or defunctional) I'll give it a go.
alienzerox
that is weird ... are you using any ammo mods like CaliberX or CASE?
GorrakTheOriginal
Yes, both. Is there a history of such things happening with either of these mods?
alienzerox
choose one ... not sure if you can use both bc they work on the same calibers of ammo so I'm thinking conflict with competing meshes & textures ... I use CalX but heard CASE has better crits while Cal sticks to realism

I use CalX but heard CASE has better crits while Cal sticks to realism Plus CalX is actively supported and updated (hell, I did half the work for the last update). CASE hasn't been updated in almost two years. And yeah - pick one or the other. Personally, I run with CalX' latest version, haven't had a problem yet. I loaded the GECK and everything looked alright, but obviously it was not.So I changed the ammo from the "40mmGrenadeProjectile" to the "40mmGrenadeProjectileUnique" that I knew worked ok from ThumpThump, saved the changes in an .esp and that worked just fine.
