You could, like, shoot things with it. . . oh yeah! like a gun! The bad people would, like, totally go KABOOM, like yeah. . . Total sarcasm I just couldn't resist. I hate stereotypical views it's just sad when they walk in the door!!!! The preppy women in texas just say "like", "yeah", "um" and "uh." You'll never see me engaged in a serious conversation saying "um" or "uh" it just makes you sound unsure and unconfident in yourself or the topic your talking about. The terms that you mentioned are pure Americanese, as is the quick-to-defend-anything-American knee jerk reaction ("When yer talkin' down mah country boy yer walkin' on the fightin' side a meeeee!"). I might add that the mode of speaking that you refer to is less a sign of nationality and more a sign of the thoughtless tendency of the mouth to move faster than the mind. Some people talk because they have something to say, while others talk because they HAVE to say something. BTW, were you actually looking for a mod or did you just want to start a thread to vent about your job and the contempt that you feel for people with whom you must interact? A view may not be a stereoype; however, a stereotpye is the result of a direct observation then placed on the general population around that point. For example, when you think of a preppy chick (in my view) i see a stuck up, "yeah, whatever" girl. If I see that girl and she displays those qualities shes a stereotypical preppy chick. Also, I was talking in general overuse of "filler" words. Every language has them to some degree. Americans are just more prominant in using them :wallbash: I'm not going to defend America for much of anything at the current moment. America elected a smart Socialist without knowing it. As of right now the general population that voted for him are blithering idiots. Anyways, this threat was for two things. To a lot of people (not just here in the US) but everywhere, lots of words are used horrificly out of context.A lot of people do not know the difference between "to" "two" and "too""There" "They're" and "Thier" What drives me nuts is when people spell things like "yo dawg thatz w@ck yo shizznit fo r$@L y3a y3a b@ng b@anG biggItY H1pp1tY h0pp!tY cl@ckA L&cK yA F00!" I felt exactly the same way about Bush/Cheney supporters. Only the very rich ones seemed to know what they were doing. The rest are now blaming Obama for the bed that they made.
