Mods and nervous breakdown

Hello there.

So it's been 3 weeks now since i got FNV ultimate edition from steam. As i just got a new laptop with a gt 750 GC, i figured why not try that new vegas as i loved FO3 (vanilla). But hell, aint FNV just ugly... So ok, let's mod the f**k out of this game !

So classic pattern => Video (gopher), reddit, forums here, nexus, forum there etcc.... And i came up with a list of mods i want

ENB enhanced shaders (tried apocalypse shader as well)

Mod config menu
Nevada skies

ILO (interior lights thing)
NMC + poco after
EVE

DOF extended

Electro city
Wasteland Flora overall
Weapon retexture project

Weapon mod menu extended

Companion essential + behavior
Imaginator

Project Nevada
World of pain
Run the Lucky 38
Quick trade
Mod configuration manager
New vegas Bounties

Real time settler
Item "tent"

Fallout uncut freeside open

etc..

I installed everything from FOMM, NMM, NVSE, Configator, FNV Edit, 4gb FNV, stutter remover etc... And red all mod installation notes several times. Also, i copied the vanilla game and installed mod after mod (or 2 in a row) and tested the game each time. Copying the game folder every other step so i can go back to a previous working version.

And yet, i just CANT make it work... At some point i always crash after a few minutes in the desert, or the nights get so dark its hardly playable, and long range texture remain ugly as crap.. So i'm on the verge of just dropping the ball altogether. So i was wondering, would there be a magnificent soul that would agree to share its game folder with me ? I know it's a huge amount of data to upload but i'd be so freakin thankfull for that ! And i'm pretty sure many people would love to be able to just download and play like that.

I love all the work modders do. I find it incredible how the game looks on some video, how cool it is to reopen a closed casino or settle a brand new town. But it's just too much of a hassle to be available for all the players out there. Or at least me :D

So, anyone with a golden heart in this forsaken majove desert ?

PS: if i'm not clear sometimes please forgive me as i'm french ^^

Cheers

It would not only be against the Nexus ToS to upload the game files like that, it would also be illegal and would likely result in Bethesda taking legal action against the Nexus if it was left on the site. So no, no one can (without getting banned) upload their game folder to the Nexus for you.

That, and it will not solve your problem.

Are you crashing at random, or always when reaching a certain zone, entering a certain interior?

ENB + Nevada Skies + NMC (which one?) + poco is a very demanding setup, and may overwhelm your laptop.

You haven't downloaded the FNV 4GB Large Address Aware file.

The problem isn't your pc, or you. It's your game.

Download this and make sure to launch the game from this file.

If you are using that, sometimes if you use too many textures or some esps are going to conflict, you are going to crash to desktop no matter what.

i already use the 4gb launcher. And i crash with it or with NVSE directly.

Also, i seem to crash randomly. I usually do a enter\exit from a building in the starting area to check if everything works. And every other mod installed, i start running through the desert. And i end up crashing pretty much anywhere without anything specific. FPS wise, i'm at a good steady 30 so doesnt seem like my laptop is overwhelmed.

BTW, i use NMC medium. Also, the enb i use is a lite package unlike the apocalypse one (~20 FPS with it) (advised by gopher).

I really wonder how one achieves a 100+ mods on new vegas.

"I really wonder how one achieves a 100+ mods on new vegas."

There's your problem.

Fallout New Vegas isn't friendly to modern gaming laptops which I assume you own.

Pick the mods you most want, and install... fifty at most. It should run better.

If there is still a problem. Do a fresh install and with the fifty mods you deem essential.

I'm curious of the specs on the laptop ... I think that you are probably overheating ... if it is a CTD or an instant shutdown, your graphics card and or processor is working so hard to keep up with the game it would auto close the process to protect your hardware, in this case FONV

If everything works fine in Goodsprings, then crashes at some point after leaving, it could well be that the problem is related to the Message Box that pops up asking if you're happy with your character. To test this, try starting up a New Game and head in one specific direction. When the game crashes, make note of the landmarks and when you restart, head for that exact spot. If it keeps crashing at the same spot, it's likely the Message Box is the problem.
