Mods and nervous breakdown

Seconding the specs of your rig, bro.

First off, are you running NMC -and- Poco's texture packs? If so, pick one and uninstall the other (they change a lot of the same stuff, so it's -really- not a good idea to run both). If you've got just NMC's, then get the Performance pack (should be under Optional Files). That'll drop texture sizes for a lot of stuff (rocks, roads, and a few other ultra-common things) down to the same as vanilla so it isn't such a performance drain.

... Wait. Do you have -both- New Vegas Bounties? If so, you also need the Someguy Series Master file, otherwise things -will- get broke. Get it here: http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/48925/? - it's also essential if you're running any of Someguy's other mods, like The Inheritance. Note that TSS doesn't require all of his mods, it's the other way around.

If you're using FOMM (my preference - NMM is just too clunky and unreliable for me), open it up, then go Tools > BOSS Autosort. Make sure you save a copy of your pre-BOSS load order though. You'll also need to make sure it didn't screw up your master loads (I've had it put PN - Core below the other PN plugins before, despite Core being, well, the core of the mod).

Also, as unoctium said, FNV isn't very laptop-friendly. I've got exactly 60 plugins in my load order (not counting the 9 for the base game), and it took me a week and half a bottle of Aleve to get things working right.
