Fusiontron
I am working on an Argonian food mod. I am annoyed by how Shahvee tells me she has a recipe passed on down to her from her people and I get an apple pie. I am looking for lore that depicts accurate Argonian food. So far I have raw fish and rats as possible food based on the in-game books. If anyone has any ideas, let me know.
Derok
Nice idea.Bethesda seem to like cuisine. The two books based on the TES universe have a weird story about a fantasy version of Hells Kitchen on the floating city Umbriel. Mere-Glim mentioned some stuff, like shells and snakes poisonous to humans but have hallucinogen effects on Argonians. Or something like that.Anyway, it doesn't appear to be a sophisticated cousin. The Bretons seem to have the best food. Edited March 12, 2014 by Derok
ponyboy10
Any kind of in-game insects would probably be good (they always sell crickets at my local pet stores for reptiles) as well as different types of plants. Who's to say Argonians don't love apple pie too? :)
Rennn
In Morrowind, Argonians greet the player by sometimes saying "The prey approaches". So I guess it's reasonable to assume they're carnivores with few qualms about eating men or mer when it's socially acceptable?
Fusiontron
Never heard of canon RL books, I'll have to check them out. Insects and other reptiles would make sense as long as the food is raw. As for "the prey approaches" they say that in Oblivion as well including to an Argonian PC. It is just a neutral greeting, not negative.
