jesterskull25
Really want to make a Giant robot (in game) like the ones you see in titenfall but not extactly, something that would help me travel place to place, also would be awesome to fight one. Plus it would also be nice to like give the plans to a faction you like and they use them in the patrols or transportion. devinpatterson
It's possible (although a bit clunky). If you want to see it happen gain permission from a author than has a robot model you like, that is mech like. If you can't you may have to use a vanilla fallout bot. I can add the script that lets you ride in it. Something liek this; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fqQs7K-vDNU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_HRKgHwPxHw

jesterskull25
That was epicly awesome, but I can't make mod (Too busy with Life and work for that, plus I just dont know how) so we need someone to make this idea work I think it would be awesome to make it in game(like your chacter build one), devin what you did what was legendary(would love your help), now it just needs npc to ride them, maybe one per major faction(NCR, Ceaser, and maybe Boomers; lorewise), and put them in either guarding something or on a patrol, also we need "raiders" or the Fiends faction to have one so we can have awesome epic robot fight. Also I think it would be good if we could build one for one of the Caravan Companies(of the players choice) so they can tranport goods from vegas to goodsprings and sloan plus more. So thats about one (or more) for personal use(you have to build it), one for each faction (NCR, Ceaser, Boomer, The Fiends) all piloted by NPCs, and one (or more) for the Caravan Companies(which you can donate(either build one you own or maybe finding one out in the waste which you repair), and maybe even ask to do a delivery once in a while(if friendly enough) (This is for Npc and maybePersonal use) I got most of my idea inspired from Robotics;Notes anime Edited March 13, 2014 by jesterskull25

I can take care of getting teh mech/bot up and running. What I was saying is that you need to get permission to use a good mech from another mod author, or you'll have to use a vanilla bot. Alternately; I can use mine but I was really saving him/it for my mars mod. Or possibly I can make another one, but I'm pretty slammed. now it just needs npc to ride them, maybe one per major faction(NCR, Ceaser, and maybe Boomers; lorewise), and put them in either guarding something or on a patrol, also we need "raiders" or the Fiends faction to have one so we can have awesome epic robot fight. Also I think it would be good if we could build one for one of the Caravan Companies(of the players choice) so they can tranport goods from vegas to goodsprings and sloan plus more. OK I was under the impression you just wanted one for your player. If your looking for a much more expansive mod, I don't think your going to be able to pull off a completely lore friendly on. I mean one experimental pre-war model sure. But that tech is just way beyond some factions abilities. NCR had to strip out the actuators of power armor, they apparently just couldn't get a handle on teh tech. The NCR does have bots and uses them in (at least) the core region, but they are few and far between compared to higher tech factions like BOS, outcast, enclave etc. Legion will never use bots for combat. The fiends are drug addled psychopaths, not the best suited to high tech. A caravan company, even a large one isn't going to have the resources to own and keep a super weapon, especially under NCR law. I think the best you could swing, and still have some remnant of lore is to include the highest tech level factions. Enclave primarily, with a larger BOS chapter a reasonable possibility (less likely but possibly a outcast faction). You might be able to have a NCR bot captured from the war with another BOS chapter. It's harder to believe than the previous chapters, but if it's just a single one it might not strain credulity/lore to the breaking point. An alternate idea might be mech's coming from the Midwest, produced by the Calculator. They had giant war/combat robots that resemble "mechs" (without any human occupents) of a type (IIRC). Maybe they are pushing forward and the player has to find and recover a pre-war Mech to have any chance to defeat them. all piloted by NPCs, ......(either build one you own or maybe finding one out in the waste which you repair), and maybe even ask to do a delivery once in a while(if friendly enough) (This is for Npc and maybePersonal use) Sure there could be old husks if they were used in the war, but you don't really have any lore for that. Power armor had just recently been introduced to the war. So you could see that as a mark against a mech or for a mech depending on your viewpoint. An alternate idea would be a military base type vault that was producing an experimental mech weapon...still in the research phase. For NPC's we'd use a different method, put a fake human in the driver seat and it would essentially be a big bot. But we could engineer a whole new level of combat that would make mech's pretty tough to take down, even with anti-tank weapons. I got most of my idea inspired from Robotics;Notes anime Nothing wrong with that
jesterskull25
You could use yours to promote your mars mod like what Luftahraan (skyrim city mod wip) did with Luftahraan - Heimfeigr or you can make another one of a different design for the same. Anyway I get what your saying about the lore thing, I had feeling the boomers could make one after watching Robotics;Notes, NCR could make one with that logic but after everything else yeah your right, no one else makeing one makes sense. But I think we can get the giant robot fight part to work if we make it a Rouge NCR faction.........(HAHAHAHa) .. I just realize almost make it near the plot of Robotics;Notes, so I might work as a sort of but not really Easter Egg unless we "make it so number one". Plus if the other just one Big Boss(if fake npc are piloting it), then its one Big Boss because its a Giant Robot, it should be hard to take down. other then that we could just build one in the game because just because (lorewise or not) Anyway this would be awesome if realise, there are too many gun mods be realised and we need mods for FNV with better ideas for FNV the more types of guns (lorewise) plus how is this a moddable game about the future and there are no(ridable) giant robots. devinpatterson
Anyway I get what your saying about the lore thing, I had feeling the boomers could make one after watching Robotics;Notes, NCR could make one with that logic but after everything else yeah your right, no one else makeing one makes sense. I think we have a mis-communication/misunderstanding or a fairly profound difference of opinion. I *do* believe there are factions that could maintain and repair a mech, like the BOS (ala Liberty Prime) and the enclave (arguably more advanced than bos & they have gov tech and access to the records and research that implies). To me the boomers don't really have tech on the level of bos or enclave, but they could have military records of where a pre-war military facility doing mech research is located. I *don't* think the NCR can. They can't even maintain power armor. But I think we can get the giant robot fight part to work if we make it a Rouge NCR faction.........(HAHAHAHa) .. I just realize almost make it near the plot of Robotics;Notes, so I might work as a sort of but not really Easter Egg unless we "make it so number one". It's not really that it has to be a faction of the NCR per se, they just don't have the know how. Any sorry for the short repsonese, when I'm off work I'll try to expand on your other points. MarchUntoTorment
Oh, Enclave could definitely do this - possibly even something quite advanced and capable of quite fluid mobility. The Brotherhood might also be capable of repairing something on this order, although it'd be a larger, slower pre-war model. I'd imagine it being a program conducted alongside T-51b in the last days of the war to provide super-heavy assault units to counter Chinese Chimera tanks. The way I'd coordinate it is as a unique set of power armour that automatically 'setscales' the player to 2.5 or something (depending on how tall you'd want it to be, anywhere between 2.0 and 5.0 could work). When picked up, it's automatically equipped, simulating the player getting into the mech. When unequipped, it's automatically dropped and the dropped item possesses the model of the full-sized mech. When the armour is equipped, the player would be able to equip unique weapons such as 20mm chainguns and super-heavy sniper cannons, among other things, to simulate the heavier loadout of the mech - all regular weapons, the player wouldn't be able to use (possibly include a flag like 'mechaweapon' on the weapons and set them to only be able to work while the player is wearing armour flagged as mecha, and vice-versa). Importantly, you'd need to balance this. Were the player to use it, it'd likely have a DT of sixty or more; enemies would need to be equipped with armour-piercing-loaded Anti-Materiél Rifles and missile launchers at the very least to remain balanced. A few possible bits of concept art (pulled from other sources and invalid for 1:1 use, but could give an idea as to what to do): Enclave Mechs: http://img3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110617073307/armoredcore/images/9/92/Berlioz1.jpg http://img4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130930172712/armoredcore/images/0/04/N-WGDK.jpg Brotherhood Mechs: http://img.amiami.jp/images/product/main/081/GDS-8432.jpg http://th09.deviantart.net/fs42/PRE/i/2009/058/1/e/_Axe_Mech_1280__by_ViViTheDaRk.jpg In case you hadn't figured it out yet, I'm a huge mecha fan and I'd love to help with this mod. I think that the armour idea is by far the easiest to implement, although I could be wrong. It'd mostly be a matter of ironing out bugs and cross-mod compatibility. jesterskull25
ok, but since were going with Brotherhood of steel and enclave, here some stuff I thought of lorewise, there are bunkers on oppisite sides of the map ( or at least a huge empty area), one is an abandon Brotherhood of steel bunker with an abandon half finished robot, the adandon enclave bucker has the same, there is two "friendly" AIs on the computers at both of them what to finish before the other and they will give you the "keys" to the finished bot, somehow you can visit both before starting the one you chose to repair. After repairing that one, the other has been repaired by "Insert Unfriendly Repairman/ Pilot" who is pilot and going on a ramage, and now the AI ask you to please defeat the other for "reasons"(maybe destory the other AI and Pilot), Alternatly the AI (being one AI all this time) repaired the other by itself, install itself into the other robot, and now wants to kill you for "fun"? The only good area I can think of is the area around the Nipton Pit stop, one side being around Cresent Canyon East and the other being far behind Nevada High Patrol station but I dont think you get access to these bunkers until after getting to Vegas, maybe hide the keys (and maybe a note telling why these bunkers were abandon) in North Vegas Square playpark in the dirt(require shovel) cause the freeside Kids always somehow get near the really dangous loot.
