The VR machine gives a lot of flexibility as a story telling element. It can be a simulation of the Mojave and allow play in any area. You can do what you want March and Dev, as long 5 thing happen I will be fine with whatever happens,1. It stays lorefriendly.2. You battle another Giant robot.3. You will be able to build a personal giant robot which you can ride in the wasteland.4. This robot can easly kill a Cazador, but can't be easily killed by a deathclaw.(It can at least stand a chance againt a deathclaw)5.I get credit for coming up and guiding the mod this far.(I still kinda feel like my dovabear idea was stolen somehow, don't want that happen again if it did.) For some reason, I feel like Operation: Anchorage would be a great setting for the VR sim, as well. Oh, of course. Everyone's going to get credit for this. Devin for doing the heavy lifting (so he'll likely get first billing) and you and I for our ideas contributions. It's been a joint project, and a textbook example of how to do one as well. (By the way, I just stopped WWI in History class negotiations, despite the teacher trying to railroad us towards it. Well one can't build new powerarmor if you'r going strictly off of lore, much less a mech (which is more complicated) and yuo want to build it from scrap metal etc? Probably not the most lore friendly mod, I'd imagine. I just want a lore friendly mod. You can do what you want March and Dev, as long 5 thing happen I will be fine with whatever happens, Wow, OK, so you had an idea that a ton of people have had for years (heck my mod for my mech was first discussed back in 2011 in my mars thread, and I made it in about the middle of 2012, but there are requests for mechs going back to 2010) and was lucky enough to have found someone to do a request for you. But you feel like it's A-OK to dictate terms for someone helping *you* by a request. Hey, no problem. I'll happy to take care of that right now and move my work into another thread. I had the idea and built a mech long (almost 2 years ago) before you even started this thread, and *I* was late to the party. Plenty of people had the idea before me. I (and I think most modders) try to help out because we're a community here. I like to give back, and do what I can to help out. But your attitude is exactly the opposite. You want some sort of personal credit for voiceing a request that many, many peeps before you have asked for, instead of being happy that someone would take the time and effort to fill your request. Yeah, I'm *not* down with that. No animosity toward you personally, I simply won't put up with it. So I'll be going my way and I'll provide to the best of my ability this mod for others that will appreciate it. I'm sorry you feel your dovabear idea was stolen but I think you have a fundamental misunderstanding of what a request is. I don't want to see all of it wasted on pointless arguing. Once we've got the basic structure of the mecha down, the rest of it won't be too hard - just a matter of building the mech (special workbench item? I dunno) with certain parts and setting up a quest. Really, it's not that difficult - if Devin doesn't want to do that bit, Jester, then I'll see if I can help rig up the quest for you as well as helping him on his project. I want us all to get along here. I have no personal animosity toward you Jesterskull25, and if it's not too much work I'll even customize the mod (make a personal mod for you) for your ideas, if I don't think they fit a lore friendly mod.
