Pau1K311y
Hi all This may be a very old question but I can't find the same issue on any posts I've searched for. I have a problem with my in game noise issue that I cannot figure out. It is a buzz or low hum, especially noticeable when quiet. I also get a crackling noise during loadscreens - though that is bearable as not constant. I thought it could be a mod - it appeared to get worse when using some companion mods, worsening when facing them - but I found that I had it with completely vanilla game. With the problem worsening with some mods I figured it was some scripts causing the noise but thought that it might be a general software/hardware issue. I don't get with other games but have noticed a similar crackling sound when on internet or moving mouse though have to admit I am not sure how to get rid of this either. Is it something to do with Steam connection or antivirus? Can anyone give me any pointers please?
Chattera
I had a peculiar audio problem while playing Skyrim a couple of weeks ago - suddenly music would go very quiet and NPC voices were inaudible. Indeed this problem would persist after quitting the game and playing regular music files. Then once it happened when I had not been playing Skyrim - which implied that it was nothing to do with the game. It turned out that I fixed the problem by disconnecting my headphones connection and putting it back in. There must have been a loose connection there. If you are getting a problem when you're not playing Skyrim, and especially if you haven't played Skyrim on the current boot, it almost certainly is not due to Skyrim. Try disconnecting your headphones/speakers and inspecting the connections. If necessary, blow away any dust or wipe with a dry cloth. Then put the connector back in. Good luck.
