Join the Imperial Watch!

Theres alot of mods out there wich are made for theifs, assassins, or even evil cultists.

Not many mods allows you to be the Protecter of the Law, rather than a Lawbreaker.

I'm gonna need someone who knows scripting to help me:) Pm or leave a comment on this

topic if your interested

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So the idea is: The player enters the Imperial Palace district, where the

"Office of the Imperial Watch" will be. Inside there will be a guy sitting at a desk,

wich can offer you a job as a member of the Imperial Watch.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rank 1: Imperial Guard

Grants the player access to the Guard Quarters throughout imperial city

The player will recieve 300 Septims a week for working, and aditional payments for

special jobs. Every Saturday the player HAS to show up at the office

at 8:30 AM and then move on to the market district, where the player will work as a

guard for the rest of the day (untill 02AM). Read below for rank2,3,4.

Will be fired if the player refuses to show up at 2 times in a row

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

During the time the player is guarding in market district, various things will occour:

1. Thieves who try to break into a house, or pick pocket persons.

(they will be wearing the Thieves Guild Uniform, so their easy to notice)

2. Assassins who tries to murder persons on the streets, sometimes they will be standing

on the roofs with a bow, (I will add stairs and/or ladders to the roofs)

(They will be wearing Dark Brotherhood Uniform.

The persons the assassins murder will be Custom NPC's, so it wont interfere with quests

from vanilla)

3. Drunk people who starts hitting random persons, or other drunk people

(occours after 7PM)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dialogues:

1. Thieves.

If you walk over to him/her, while hes/shes sneaking around, but hasnt done anything

yet, you will be able to say: Excuse me, what are you doing?

They will answer diffrent things like:

nr. 1

None of your bussiness!

(Player) Oh, I believe it is. If you dont stop sneaking around I will have you arrested.

*Then the thief leaves the area*

nr. 2

My back is hurt, thats why I'm walking like this

(Player) Well, then let me escort you to the place your going

Suddently I'm feeling all better! I think I'll take a vacation from this hectic city.

*Then the thief leaves the area*

nr. 3

Me? Oh, I just lost my pouch, so Im looking for it

(Player) Allright, carry on, I will watch over you though.

Woups! Its right there in my pocket.. Im such a fool. Have a nice day

*Then the thief leaves the area*

==========

If a thief is breaking into a house he will stand infront of the housedoor for 20 seconds,

and then he will enter the house.

==========

If you catch the thief while their trespassing ( if you've seen the thief enter the house, and you

do the same, and catch them).

You will be able to say: Halt! Your under Arrest for Thievery and Trespassing.

30% Chance they will pay the fine.

(Player) Allright, heres the procedure, we go to the prison, search you

for any stolen goods, and then we release you. *Thief Dissapears*

35% Chance they will go to jail. *Thief Dissapears*

5% Chance they will resist arrest. *Thief Fights Player*

==========

2. Assassins

If you find them with their weapons drawn on a roof, or on the street

You will be able to say: Sheathe that weapon, or follow me to the prison!

60% He/she leaves the area

40% He/she attacks the player

If you find them when they've murdered someone

You will be able to say: Stop right there you criminal scum! Your violating the law!

60% He/she attacks the player.

10% He/she goes to jail.

30% He/she tries to flee

==========

3. Drunken People

If you find two drunk people fighting eachother

You will be able to say: Stop this immediatly, or follow me to the Prison!

70% chance they stop

25% chance they carry on

5% chance they attack player instead

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rank 2: Imperial Palace Guard

Payment: 500 Septims a week.

Difficulty Unlocked: Medium

Then after 4 Saturdays' the player will rank to become a Imperial Palace Guard.

Where he will meet Monday 8:30 AM at the office, then move on to the Imperial palace where

the player will work untill 11PM

The same things happens there, only theres no drunks, and nearly no assassinations. But a hell

lot of thiefs.(Not pickpockets this time)

NOTE THAT THE PLAYER STILL WORKS SATURDAYS IN THE MARKET DISTRICT

Will be fired if the player refuse to show up at any of the jobs 3 times in a row

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rank 3: Imperial Guard Captain

Payment 1000 Septims a week

Difficulty Unlocked: Hard

Then after 4 Mondays, the player ranks to Guard Captain, the player gets another job:

At sundays you meet up at 10AM at the office, where the office-dude will give you some

papers, wich you are to deliver to the counts/countesses of the other cities.

it will rotate like this: First sunday= Anvil, Second Sunday= Bruma, Third sunday=Chorrol,

Fourth Sunday= Leyawiin, Fifth Sunday= Cheydinhal, Sixth Sunday= Skingrad,

Seventh Sunday= Bravil. And then it will restart.

Could be cool if it could be scripted so that Fast travel would be locked when getting the quest

and then it unlocks when your done, also bandits, highwaymen and assassins should spawn and

attack you on your way to the castle.

NOTE THAT THE PLAYER STILL WORKS SATURDAYS AND MONDAYS

Will be fired if the players refuse to show up at any of the jobs 5 times in a row.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rank 4: Commander of the Imperial Watch

Payment 1500 Septims a week

Difficulty Unlocked: Very Hard

And then after 4 Sundays the player will become a Commander of the Imperial Watch.

It will grant him access to the entire Imperial Prison, and The Imperial Palace.

Also it gives the player a house in the Imperial Prison District.

(corrupt)It will allow the player to demand taxes and random payments from people

(max= 5000gold and doesnt work on beggars, but only once a week)

NOTE THAT THE PLAYER STILL WORKS SATURDAYS AND MONDAYS AND SUNDAYS.

But can no longer be fired.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Jobs has 4 Difficulty levels, you will get harder jobs, the higher rank you get.

Easy/Medium/Hard/Very Hard

Stealing some of these from the mods already mentioned:

Patrols

undercover mission(s)... Something less lame though, like inflitrating a group of bandits, and then gaining enough trust so they take you to their leader/HQ

Investigating Corruption.

Keep your ear to the ground. Talk to lot's of NPCs, be their friends, convince them that the law is on their side! Maybe they'll help you by telling you about some small time drug dealer wandering about, someone asking about how to contact the night mother, someone asking about the grey fox a little too much, etc.

Speaking to accountants, or the council about the Legion needing extra funds/resources. You'd only get this mission after you've displayed how good of a speaker you are (convinced a lot of criminals to go to jail, or stop doing crimes)

Could be cool if it could be scripted so that Fast travel would be locked when getting the quest

and then it unlocks when your done, also bandits, highwaymen and assassins should spawn and

attack you on your way to the castle.

No scripting required, this can easily be done with quest stage result scripts, and other simple methods:

EnableFastTravel 0

And then when you want fast travel to be re-enabled just do

EnableFastTravel 1

The Elder Council does this for the patrols, and on one or two of the quests.

I take it you'll be doing most of the quest type stuff and dialogue for this? If so you might want to read this if you plan on any complex dialogue, and perhaps this forum in general.

The rank 4, demanding taxes option.

Is it possible to, when the player has demanded over, lets say 20k gold, Your disposition with all people in the imperial city will be lowered by 25 the next time you demand a tax or payment, and so on, then everybody will hate you, because your a corrupt pig.

+ the people you demand taxes from will instantly go to 5 disposition

(You cant run around and demand taxes for very long, without the rumor spreading, so it would be cool that after 8x tax demands of 5000gold, everybody would hate you in the imperial city) :P
