Panzer4
I just have a few mods installed and, while my machine is a few years old, I think it's capable of running the game better than it is at the moment. My specs are as follows: AMD Athlon 64 3700+Radeon X1650 Pro (Omega 3.8.442 drivers)2GB DDR RAM This is my load order (from OBMM): Oblivion.esmUnofficial Oblivion Patch.espUOP Vampire Aging & Face Fix.espOscuro's_Oblivion_Overhaul.espBrewHouse.espOblivion Citadel Door Fix.espKnights.espAmajor7 Imperial Furniture.espDLCShiveringIsles.espApachii_Goddess_Store.espDeadly Reflex 5 - Timed block and 150% damage.espDeadlyReflex 5 - Combat Moves.espMidasSpells.esp I also have the Apachii Goddess Store and Qarl's Texture Pack. At the moment, my fps is at best 20 in town w/ 1st person view, and 14 or so in 2d person. In the countryside, it gets down to about 5 in 2d person and at best only about 9 or 10 in 1st person. Nexus Set
Try uninstalling QTP, and see if it helps. It's kinda heavy on the graphics card. More info on your video card would be helpful; like how much V-RAM and if it's PCI-express or AGP.
Panzer4
The card is AGP and 512MB. Also, I'm running Oblivion from a parallel installation of XP on its own partition that has a bare minimum of processes running (I don't even use it for the internet), the game itself is also on a separate partition of 20GB (though I'm discovering that that might not be quite large enough) and I've just completed defragmentation of both the OS and the Oblivion drives. bben46
Check this site for tweaks that may help. http://www.tweakguides.com/
Panzer4
Will do. As I'm working my way through it, I might add that I've just now come back from deactivating all of my installed mods with virtually no effect. When I first installed Oblivion a week or two ago--though I didn't yet know how to display fps--it ran smoothly while set on ultra-high. In my enthusiasm, I started installing mods willy-nilly, and have actually reinstalled the game a time or two (using RivaUninstaller and reformat of the dedicated drive the game is on). I'm really wondering now if perhaps I've screwed something up. Anyway, I'll work through the tweak site. Thanks for the help.
