JebeTheGreat
Today I started playing Skyrim again after my quick stint with the Mass Effects and this idea just popped into my head. What if you weren't the Dragonborn and someone else was? But then you'd accompany him/her through their ascension to greatness. I'm not a modder myself, but I think this could be done. The Dragonborn would take you along the quests and maybe even the main quest lines, and you could yourself set, which main quests the Dragonborn would do. The quest could start already from Helgen, where you met on the carriage and were going to get executed. Then you fight yourselves out of Helgen and decide to become adventurers. Later, it turns out your friend is the legendary Dragonborn and you go about saving the world. Or alternatively, he becomes the Listener, Archmage etc. Another way to start would be that you live in Riverwood and desire for adventure. You hear that the Golden Claw has been stolen from the local general store and you head to the Bleak Falls Barrow to retrieve it. There you meet a stranger who helps you retrieve the claw and you two return triumphantly home. You then decide to continue adventuring. You could be a Dark Brotherhood initiate meet another recruit, with whom you complete contracts. Later he then becomes the Listener and you then serve him/her. The possibilities are endless. I find myself thrilled by the idea of for once not being the leader myself. This time, someone else needs to do the decisions and you just need to follow around. notmyhome
This mod adds an NPC named "Dovahkiin" you can recruit as a follower, and this one stops you being dragonborn.Still, not one mod I´ve heard about lets you play the Main Quest as the Dragonborn´s follower. Ah, should add that the second mod I recommended has apparently broken someone´s game (not mine, though), so another person suggested this one. However, I never tried that one myself.
