5ivexxxxx
How would I disable the PipBoy radio? Is it similar to setting an area to not allow waiting, or does it need scripting? And if so, what is the script?
TonyaSolovyov
I'm pretty sure it would require a script. I don't know anything about scripting, so you'll have to ask around. Even though you could just tell players not to turn their radio on, it adds a whole new mentallity when they don't have the choice. Also, make the door look behind them when they enter your level! That way, once their in, they either die, or fight their way through.

hellchosen
if you have ever played fear 2 thats scary you hear noises from projectors and such in the start of the game and you see a quick flash of a ghostly creature and in some parts the lights go dim or even out and of course moving objects that move as you get close that is scary  also on a personal note lawn gnomes creep me out <_<
TonyaSolovyov
Another thing that makes the game MUCH scarier is when you disable the HUD (console command TM). Unfortunately, it disables all menus. If you found a way to disable just the crosshair and HUD, it would make the game so much scarier not knowing how much ammo you have left in a clip, or how much health you have left (until your heart starts to beap, and even then, it will add a fright)! I'll let you know if I can think of anything else!
hellchosen
umm dude you do know you can check hp and ammo by way of your inv right? <_<
TonyaSolovyov
Darn, I never thought of that... It would still add realism which makes it more scary though. You would have to rely on your pipboy more.
R4za
In fallout, the only thing that kinda does it is enemies I can't see or catch on radar, but can still hear as they move and make sounds around me. Also, packs of wannamingos (MMM) have spooked me on occasion as they snuk up behind me in the wastes while I was circling a prey of my own, fast buggers. Again, something not spotted before it spots you. Maybe make things spawn behind you in areas you've already cleared, or enter from inaccessible side areas once you passed them by like the ants in Springvale school. Also, almost universally, feral enemies (monsters, animals, ghouls) are scarier than intelligent, organised ones like raiders or super muties. If it's gonna be raiders, give em a few pets or an infestation of their own to deal with.
