There are a few things I'd like to implement in my own game to go along with it, but I'm not sure how exactly to go about it. First: I'd like to remove the self destruct on meld containers, and edit the amount of meld each container holds to either one to ten or five. Second: I'd like to have a way to harvest meld from aliens, preferably different amounts depending on the alien. Third: I'd like to implement echoic's "Reaction Fire" mod. Thank you for reading. All the information currently in that thread applies to the older EU version of LW, 2.12. If you wish to play with that, you will need to 'downgrade' to EU patch level 4 first. But of course, it has nothing to do with 'meld'. However, it is essentially on hiatus while the LW team is working on getting the EW version whipped into shape. They have publicly stated (several times) that they will not do anything to support mod requests to any version of the LW mod until it is stable, meaning they release a 'non-beta' EW version. The LW team is incredibly generous with their time in helping the mod making community, but frankly just getting and keeping LW stable and balanced to their own design is about all they have time for. They make their "stable" code changes available, but if you cannot understand the basics of what that code describes, they do not have the time to teach you and every other player how to tweak it to your personal desires. We do our best to help as a community in that regard with the wiki, but "modding a mod" is a very non-trivial pursuit at the best of times, and LW is a massive mod by any standards (rewriting some 600 of the game's functions and making major changes to the design of the game play). Be prepared to invest some serious time and resources of your own if you intend to pursue it. Otherwise, just hope what you desire is sufficiently similar to that of others with the requisite skill set who are willing to put the effort into creating one. Each of your requests have been made in the forums previously in some form or other, though perhaps not specifically in the context of LW. Check out the 'Long War Feature Requests and Suggestions' thread. The LW team is most likely to accommodate (if possible) such ideas as are presented there. (My personal suggestion is that an endorsement to something previously presented is more likely to be implemented than something "new" repeated multiple times. However, I'm not part of the team, and don't track that thread, so perhaps they already have guidelines posted.
