WonderGamer
I realize this may be a bit impossible to be done, but I'm going to throw the idea out there anyways: I would like the game to be more randomized (to the point of being more rogue-like). The most preferable method of this would be random map generation when you enter a mission. Even subtle changes such as items to climb to get to higher ground (ladders, drain pipes), cover-points (the amount of cover it provides, even the location of the coverpoint itself), enemy spawns, item spawns (bomb nodes, Meld containers, other items that have some form of activation), even the start point in the game could make a difference & keep things interesting. I realize this is probably impossible in scripted missions that are storyline-specific so I'm not worried about those, but for standard missions that do not have a storyline attached to them, this would be a HUGE improvement. Krazyguy75
We've done enemy spawns and I'm pretty sure we're working on bombs and meld containers, but the rest is nigh impossible at the moment.
WonderGamer
Thanks for the info. I did a search for this, I found this:http://www.nexusmods.com/xcom/mods/470 If this is the correct MOD, the only gripe I have about this is the last known issue:Reused abduction maps won't have MELD. I am fully amped to use it regardless of the bugs, but that last one is a bit of a killer & I think I'll wait until that issue is resolved. wghost81
You may use Meld Mechanics Resolved. It's not a killer, actually, as Maps Reused is not required for Random Pods mod. It's purely optional. You may use Random Pods with vanilla map pool and have fun.
WonderGamer
Ah. I must've misunderstood the statement then. I didn't realize that Maps Reused was another MOD. In that case, I think I'll use this the next time I play it. Now just hoping somebody will come up with a solution for the other suggestion threads I posted in. WonderGamer
So I downloaded the MOD...but I have no idea on where to go from here... Keep in mind this is my first attempt to use a MOD in this game, so I really have no idea on how to apply it. The page for the MOD gives no details on it, the Nexus MOD manager doesn't seem to have an installation tool for this game & I've been searching for some kind of FAQ for maybe an hour with no success (does't help that the site seems to be runnning slow as mud). Can somebody give me some kind of idea on what I need to do to use this? >.<
wghost81
Sorry, mod page lacks description, indeed. You need to use PatcherGUI to install this mod. Unpack PatcherGUI and read it's readme on how to use it for installing the mods.
