nomad1888
Hi, I've just re-installed Fallout 3 and have hit a bug that I haven't seen before. The battle music doesn't come on when I get into a fight. I've tried turning off all mods, but the problem continues. Any suggestions?
nomad1888
I've tried re-installing it AGAIN, and played in vanilla form, both without and with the 1.7 patch. But the battle music still refuses to start when I get into a fight. All the other music - Intro screen, ordinary background music and death music - all work fine, but the battle music just won't start up. Please can some kind and knowledgeable soul offer a fix? The game is strangely dead without combat music.
mechine
Shoot... I don't even listen to that stuff... You know they say "it really makes the game" But I turn that off, an also Radio's off sometimes an then there's no music, just the sounds of the wasteland. Extract the sound you are talking about the battle music find one an extract it via FOMM .bsa unpacker put it on the desktop an double click it see what happeneds You kind of want Windows media player to open it so if it doesn't open it then you right click it an pick open with pick from a list rather than internet find WMP then pick it, but make sure to check the box for always use this to open this file type If you have FFDshow installed or whatever, just add in all the programs that launch falout fallout3.exe falloutlauncher.exe FOMM.exe FOSE.exe To my knowlege the music is all .wav format acording to the radio stutter thread (which you should read as it fixes all sound problems) Could be either the battle music is a different format or yeah the settings for .wav heck you could have the volume settings messed up you could have a shady sound driver Bad audio codecs I'm going to go look at those battle music files okay. Maybe even think about playing a round or two with the music turned on. I do know it's better, an makes it kind of movie like.
mechine
Okay so scratch that... The battle music is MP3 So I would visit the radio stutter thread an read it to find out how people have fixed issues with fallout sound there were some particulars dealing with the MP3 settings an since mine worked fine I didn't read that part follow the link to the thread. http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?showtopic=99804 thank you drive thru.... nomad1888
Thanks very much. I'll hunt through the stutter thread.
burnov
Thanks very much. I'll hunt through the stutter thread. The ambient music really adds to the game, and it's killing me that it's not working properly. Bethesda shouldn't have rushed this game out the door if they can't even get the basic functions such as music to work properly. I've had no problems with Oblivion, why should this be any different?
