checking now:

  • lets do this. Start over. do not install script-extender until that game is fully patched, updated and functional with out LIVE active.
  • use an uninstaller program, do not rely on windows uninstaller, it leaves behind too much junk.
  • install, GFWL market place, the updated version before installing fallout 3 .
  • that need to comply with your OS first as it is using your OS data to run the game, this data is placed into the system32 directory By Microsoft for gaming. "NOT by this games setup installer".
  • This retail game cd will install only what it has for it's vintage, as it does not contain data of the latest versions so no overwrites will take place. Unless of course Bethesda has a time machine?
  • Verify you have the right graphics divers for this game. some will not work with fallout3, if not, install them.
  1. Driver Packaging Version 13.251-131206a-166389C-ATI <---is required
  2. 2D Driver Version 8.01.01.1360
    2D Driver File Path /REGISTRY/MACHINE/SYSTEM/ControlSet001/Control/Class/{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}/0000
  3. Direct3D Version 9.14.10.01001
  4. OpenGL Version 6.14.10.12618
  5. AMD Catalyst Control Center Version 2013.1206.1603.28764
  6. that is what is needed on your system "Before you install that game."
  7. when you reach the exit out of the vault 101 and hard save at that point ,now you verify. live activity,
  • now you can start in on modifying the game.

I have a hunch, you install fose with fomm?............Possible have the 7z bug....which is only a duplicated folder problem.

ok personal likes and dislikes aside, I am up front with every one, I do not approve of script extenders, breaking the games structure.

that does not mean I have no knowledge of it or how it works or what is does, on the contrary. so, that package you downloaded, extract it to the desk top, open it's folder, open the next folder, when you find the lose files, select all of those, copy and paste that into where the games main executable is and bang, you now have fose installed.

breaking games rules is THE name of this game, it's called modding, to modify, so I know how to modify the game, in all aspects of it.

Vanilla, your as safe as the game is, NON vanilla? good luck.

Im sorry if i was unclear but i installed fose manually like you just described. Script extenders are the only things i install manually because of the problem you just mentioned. I'll try the exact steps you have listed though. Thanks for taking all of the time to list that for me! I will reply to let you know if it worked. Fingers crossed!

One last thing though, are you saying to not install fose until i leave vault 101?

that is correct. wait till the main game actually loads up, and the Intro is over. then you are free, as free will was designed into the game to run, the into is a controlled Environment and only Qualified modding experts should tamper with that area.

not many around any more for this old dog of game.
