Jean2
Hello everybody, I'm new to this website and to oblivion mods as well  I have a very strange voice problem in game. It seems that depending on where the sound is coming from (front or rear) the tone is different. From rear the voice is way too loud. Here is my load order: Oblivion.esmHorseCombatMaster.esmOblivion XP.espMIS.espMIS New Sounds Optional Part.espKnights.espDLCVileLair.espDLCHorseArmor.espDLCShiveringIsles.espDLCOrrery.espDLCThievesDen.espDLCMehrunesRazor.espDLCFrostcrag.espDLCSpellTomes.espDLTIC-1-6.espCheydinhal Petshop.espBag of Holding.espPCSoundAnomen.espBorderless_Cyrodiil-3578.espNatural_Vegetation_by_Max_Tael.espNatural_Habitat_by_Max_Tael.espNatural_Water_by_Max_Tael.espNatural_Weather_HDR_by_Max_Tael.espAlternative Start by Robert Evrae.espHarvest[Containers].espHarvest[Containers] - Player Home Add-on.espHarvest[Containers] - Havok Crates Add-on.espHarvest[Containers] - Flat-Top Barrels Add-on.espP1DkeyChain.espP1DmenuEscape.espToggleable Quantity Prompt.esp By the way one of the main reasons i decided to play again Oblivion was that i wanted a new main quest. I heard about OOO and i read through the files on this website but i can't seem to find a mod that adds a new main quest. Thank you for your answers. dezdimona
General Load-Order GuidelinesHere are the guidelines that I adhere to, personally. ~ Unofficial Oblivon Patch should always be first on the list. The fixes are great, but most aren't essential, so if a mod overwrites them its not a big deal, and the fixes have the potential for screwing up other mods if loaded later. ~ Offical Content (DLC's) should be loaded last, until you complete all quests associated with them (that includes buying all furniture for the houses and whatnot). Once they're complete, they can be safely moved up in the list. This is especially important for Knights of the Nine, which will have some fairly major problems unless loaded last (unless you get the UOP for KotN) ~ Major overhaul mods (OOO, Frans, MMM) should be loaded near the end. That gives you the most complete experience with any of those particular mods. It also lets you carefully choose which other mods to load afterwards... only move mods that you know will conflict and that you want the changes from. For example, I have Improved Soul Gems below OOO because I know that OOO changes the icons of some of the SG's, and ISG needs to be below to show through. Some people will recommend putting larger mods first, but personally I disagree. There are a number of mods out there that make minor tweaks, and loading after a large mod will end up completely overwriting a chunk from one of the bigger mods because of the way conflicts work in Oblivion (even one minor change will take precedence over the entire record... for example, simply tweaking the speed of a weapon can cause every stat of that weapon to be retained to vanilla levels if loaded later). So basically, it stacks up like this... Oblivion.esmUnofficial Oblivion Patch<Minor Mods / DLC's (Post-Completion)><Major Overhaul Mod/Mods><Mods that specifically conflict with overhauls and need to take precedence><DLC's (Pre-Completion)>Note: If using Mayu's Overhaul Mod. I recommend loading it after OOO or MMM Expanded Load-Order Guidelinesby dev_akm I would extend this to include: Oblivion.esmUnofficial Oblivion Patch<Weather/Environment/Sound Mods><Minor Mods/New Items/Houses/DLC's (Post-Completion)><Major Overhaul Mods><Mods that specifically conflict with overhauls and need to take precedence><DLC's (Pre-Completion)><Quests><Compatibility Patches/UOMP/Merged Leveled Lists> And a special-case warning for Knights.esp (Knights of the Nine) -- you may not be able to move it earlier than some other mods (some people have had problems after moving it before OOO, for example). That's basically the structure I use and I have 140+ mods working well together. Another way of describing this (posted by DMan77):....Oblivionunoffical patchDeeper realism mods that add sights and soundsadded content like weapons/itemsgameplay changes, like 'must eat and sleep'The OOO typethe 'new begining' type mod................................................................................................... Jean2
Thank you Dezdimona but i already knew about that tip : Load Order Here is my new load order: Oblivion.esmHorseCombatMaster.esmPCSoundAnomen.espNatural_Weather_HDR_by_Max_Tael.espNatural_Water_by_Max_Tael.espNatural_Habitat_by_Max_Tael.espNatural_Vegetation_by_Max_Tael.espMIS.espMIS New Sounds Optional Part.espDLTIC-1-6.espCheydinhal Petshop.espMiniMap.espHarvest[Containers].espHarvest[Containers] - Player Home Add-on.espHarvest[Containers] - Havok Crates Add-on.espHarvest[Containers] - Flat-Top Barrels Add-on.espBag of Holding.espBorderless_Cyrodiil-3578.espP1DkeyChain.espP1DmenuEscape.espToggleable Quantity Prompt.espOblivion XP.espKnights.espDLCVileLair.espDLCHorseArmor.espDLCShiveringIsles.espDLCOrrery.espDLCThievesDen.espDLCMehrunesRazor.espDLCFrostcrag.espDLCSpellTomes.espAlternative Start by Robert Evrae.esp But nothing changed, the same sound problem still happens. After some testing it seems to be a more general NPC voice tone problem with an echo. I'm playing the french version of the game, should i install UOP anyway? malonn
Well I seriously doubt this will help with your sound issue, but you don't have Deadly Reflex fully installed. You are missing the ESP (and optional ESP's as well) associated with the mod. You need to reinstall Deadly Reflex, being sure to install the ESP's. Right now, you are not playing the mod. As far as the main quest is concerned, there is no mod that replaces the main quest. I know it sucks, but you are stuck with it. There is a mod that allows you to play as the Mythic Dawn after you complete the main quest. If your interested I'll find a link for you. As far as your sound issue is concerned, the only thing I can think is your sound drivers. I had a weird issue with sound happen once to me when I installed a beta driver. Be sure you have the latest sound driver for your hardware.
Jean2
you don't have Deadly Reflex fully installed i know, i did it on purpose. Anyway even fully uninstalled/installed i get the same problem. As far as your sound issue is concerned, the only thing I can think is your sound driver I updated them but now i cant play anymore. It is impossible for me to load or start a game. What the hell is going on? I should reinstall the game, considering i ddin't do it last time i upgraded my rig and reinstalled Win Xp. Impotant note: i'm running the french version of Oblivion.
malonn
Try deleting your Oblivion.ini and letting the game rebuild a new one.
Jean2
I have spent the day trying to fix the problem It was not a drivers problem but a configuration problem. If you have a Realtek HD Integrated soundcard then you'd better go in the configuration panel and configure it. Inside the Input/Output (I/O) tab you need to set the audio device that you use (e.g. speakers or headphones) Set it right depending on your configuration or you will get a strange 3D sound in game. Finally it had nothing to do with mods. If a moderator or an admin wants to move this topic to a more general section of the forum
