llamaRCA
before you even go there, I bought it at Wal-Mart, the games for windows version. Link: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Fallout-New-Vegas-Ultimate-Edition-PC-Mac-PC-Games/19613292Well, isn't this something. The PC version of F:NV was released exclusively for Steam, meaning there is no CD version. If you got your game on CD, it certainly wasn't from Walmart (that link is a "special offer" by Walmart, which then directs you to the Steam Store), and it is a pirated copy. Period. It sounds like you are telling him that a CD version = pirated, but there are legitimate CD versions. I'm looking at mine. I have the Collector's Edition that was delivered to my house on release day from, IIRC, Amazon. The DRM is run through Steam, though, which renders the CD essentially useless. The amount of agonizing over having to install via Steam (a many hours long process) when so many of us had CDs was pretty intense that day. @ ONEOFHAM, recruiting a FO4 modding team when you don't own NV and haven't modded for it or FO3 is inconceivable to a community like this one. It's not that I don't think you can do it, because obviously lots of newbies to a franchise are capable of modding, Skyrim is a perfect example of that. But you'll be hard pressed to find anyone among the seasoned ranks for Fallout modders to join you until you have something to show them.
jazzisparis
No, in fact, there is a CD version, just like there is a CD version of Civ 5. You install it off of the CD, and it hooks up to steam. I then gave the CD to my friend, he told me he can use it, and I no longer need it as it is hooked up to my steam. I have lost access to my steam account and do not remember the email for it, and my computer crashed and I lost everything, as well as the few games I had for it (admittedly not many, Im more of a console gamer, not a good enough PC). Now I am regretting the decision of giving the disc to my friend because he has since destroyed it and I can no longer re-install it. Does that outline the sequence of events enough for you jazzisparis? or do I need to go over the how the case looked and the section of the store I bought it it in excruciating detail, as well as upload a scan of the receipt?Well, I feel like a complete idiot now. I was wrong - there is, indeed, a CD version, just as you said (and llamaRCA confirmed). I was totally unaware one existed. It was arrogant of me to imply you were a pirate, when a quick search was enough to reveal even Amazon sells one. Please accept my sincere apology and hope there are no hard feelings. 0NE0FHAM
Eh, I can get over it. Just don't be so quick to assume what you think you know is right, I know that's fudged me over a few times.
