A Very Strange Bug

Hi All, this is my first post; couldn't find a reference to this issue so thought I'd ask for help...

 

I’ve played F3 through twice now and so far have been able to overcome all the bugs (ctd’s and freezes) I’ve encountered but now I’ve run into something strange and I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced it.

 

What happens is this:

 

The screen fades to black (although the HUD elements remain visible) while simultaneously I hear an audio sequence composed of a slide whistle, a bell, the sound of a needle dragging across a record then an audience laughing (including what sounds like Krusty the Clown).

 

Yeah, no joke.

 

After this I can still do everything I normally could (crouch/stand jump, move, fast travel, save, use VATS and my Pipboy {although I can only see the screen, not the pip boy controls} and I can still hear the game music) but my screen aside from my HUD remains black…

 

So far I’ve tried going back to previous saves, resting in my Megaton house, experimenting with console commands but this weird bug keeps coming back. I'm patched to 1.7 and am running a fair amount of mods (the newest were added about a month ago but everythig's been pretty stable up to now.)

 

Has anyone experienced this issue? Does anyone know how to get past it?

Update: Issue Resolved

 

I'd just about written off my chances for getting past this weird audio-blackout thing when I suddenly remembered seeing something about a 'clanger' sound effect for the 'Seducing Women' mod I was using. As the audio-sequence I was being pummeled with included a very clangy bell, I played a hunch and deactivated the SW mod then went back to a save that would previously blackout on me.

 

Success! I the problem disappeared and the game can go on.

 

Anyway, just wanted to let y'all know how it worked out;
