Deleted4363562User
Hey, I just got done following the Companion Creation Guide here on the Nexus. This is going to be my first mod ever, so needless to say I'm a noob. I think I have my basic character up and running with all the standard packages, and he's fully compatible with the Companion Wheel. That said, I'm trying to add in new dialogue now, but I am unsure of how to go about it. For example, if I want him to say things during combat, or when he is overburdened, are there conditions I need to set, or result scripts? Is there a guide or something for that? Or maybe just a respository of scripts and a description of what they do? I would also like there to be somewhat of an in-depth conversation upon meeting the NPC, but again, I am unsure of how to do it. I almost feel comfortable messing around with the GECK, but I figured why not ask the experts here first. EDIT: For now I suppose I will just browse through the Niner.esm and try to reverse engineer it, and take from it what I can.
spartenkiller897
There are special menus in the quest menu that specify combat dialogue and "Hellos" and "Goodbyes" ( under conversation). There are also dedicated dialogue topics that are triggered upon player actions.
Deleted4363562User
Thanks buddy. I saw them, and thought they were it, but I was unsure. I'll try messing with them.
Deleted4363562User
I decided to change the initial location of my NPC from the goodsprings saloon to the Nevada Highway Patrol Station. Is there an easy way to move the ***HomeMarkerREF and ***REF without screwing up the basic Quest Conditions? I have tried deleting both References and it really screws thing up. I have to go back and redo a bunch of Conditions. Even after redoing them, I still can't get the NPC to behave the way he did prior. Another issue I am concerned about is having the home marker different from where the Player finds the NPC for the first time. In my case, the PC finds the NPC in the Nevada Highway Patrol Station, but the NPC's home marker is Johnson Nash's home in Primm.
