Kamoba
I was watching a dvd of a popular TV series Red Dwarf, and I remembered the Canariess (Convict Army Nearly All Retarded Inbred Evil Sheep Sha****s)Then while reading my book (The Elf Stones Of Shanara) I cam Across the Convict Army called the Free Corps, and I thought, Damn that'd be a good Mod for Oblivion. So here I am handing out this idea to anyone who wants it. Idea: A Convict Army. Section: Oblivion - Guilds/Factions. Name: The Free Corpse. Story: The Elder Council has noticed their numbers in the Legion are spread thin, their recruitment methods are not going too well, so they decide to creat the Free Corpse. The Free Corpse is a unit of the Legion, made of all the Criminals, murderer's, pirates and other scum bags from the Imperial prisons. Their task is simple, they go in to the most dangerous sh**iest of conditions and check if its safe for the important people. The set backs, they must obide the law and serve the Corpse, in exchange they are not kept in cells, they are fed well and are given the promise of "freedom" should they prove themselves Loyal to the empire. Quests to include:The legion needs more Iron reserves, but has not got enouth mines, there is one in the south part of Cyrodiil, go clean it out. Bandit raids on the villages and merchants have been discovered to come from a powerfull gang, take out the leader, or the gang its your choice. A mage of some sort has raised an island in Topal bay, no one knows his intentions, you will go in to see if it is safe for our embassador, If safe, make nessacery arrngments for a meeting, if not subdue and capture the target. Other quests (less hack and slash, and more "survival" quests will be added as I think of them.) Tools and armor:During your service to the legion, you must wear the armor of the Free Corps. (Cue some battered Iron armor, or ripped leather.) Choice of weaponry: Sword.Bow, and Arrows.Mace.Black Jack. (Possibly scripted to allow the ability to nock people out as apposed to killing them.) Other Tools: Bandages. You aint good enouth for the fancy potions soldier!Lock picks. All loot found on missions must be handed into the Legion officers. Yes this is a very big restriction on equiptment, but lets face it, your a prisoner, all your kit was taken off you by the guards (and proberbly fenced off) and they give you their old training armor. I also have the idea of it being -very- big on roleplay. So that means it'll be less "full freedom" and more if your spotted by a guard or legion patrol they approach and say "What the hell are you doing, your supposed to be clearing the mine out!" Obviously due to my lack of modding abilitie's, It is down to the modder to do what they like with the idea's.
Kamoba
No one wants it? or wants to add any ideas? :(
grmblf
It seems fun to play the redeemed criminal role, but sincerely I'm not playing that way. If I'm a criminal I'm not with the law, and if I follow the rules I don't want to be treaten like garbage so I don't see it fits my playstyle, anyway it's an original idea and maybe could be used for a starting replacement mod, so instead of your travel through the secret escape route you have to fullfil some missions for the Legion before they let you go or you decide to escape. Unless you're forced to join them (ie to keep it as a guild or faction) I think you should add something to make it a bit more attractive, some reward appart from daily food and a bed to sleep, maybe the player has to join them to get acces to some secret cellar where the legion torture and execute prisoners, or get some important information, etc., to fulfill another -apparently- independent quest. It's just a thought, I'm unable to mod it, too.good luck
Kamoba
I like the idea of it being a starter replacement, Its weird i did'nt think of it befor. (the amount of new players i make.... each time a char dies i don't re-load games :) ) Perhaps as a reward some nice (balanced) Imp legion armor on top of the information :) All idea's, suggestions and comments are welcome :)
