Figuring things out

I'm still trying to keep alive an Oblivion mod based one one of the games in the Shadow Hearts series. Unfortunately I'm running into some problems...

1. I need to adjust the polymorph idea to allow the character to change into custom monsters. But I'm having difficulty creating them.

2. I wanted to create some new spell animations, like the ones that were pulled off in the Midas magic mod. How do I make these from scratch?

Do any of you have any ideas?

Curse of Hircine.

You were saying?

Curse of Hircine is still basically humanoid. Werewolf mods are really just a suit given to the player; actors still move like ordinary humanoids.

However, polymorphing is still very possible. Generally done by making the player invincible and invulnerable, putting a creature in front of them and having the creature respond to the player's controls via scripting. It can be seen in Polymorph Self (Abandoned and WIP, but still working smoothly) and Terran Vampires.

It should be possible, but the less "humanoid" your subject, the more scripting it will take. How do trolls differ more from humanoids than the average creature?

I'd say, it depends on the animations that are available for each creature. A slaughterfish doesn't even have walking animations. Some creatures, e.g. deers, don't have combat animations. Goblins on the other hand have plenty animations for a lot of situations.

Actually, the more humanoid the creature is, the MORE scripting is required (that is, if you want to see all animations). Just saying.
