New Animations

Okay, ive asked before and am suprised no one rose to the challenge. I am getting to the point were I greatlly despise Bethesda's origonal animations. I am aware that DMC's animation replacer is there, but to be honest, ive never been into the whole flip-kick thing with swords. What I am requesting is an animation overhual that has new animations fit for a barbarian or knight, brutal yet awsome looking animations that make me feel like im watching a movie. You see I would sit down and learn how to do this animating stuff, but here is my schedule on the week days:

-school

-football practice

-homework

-Mod for TATW team

-eat

-by now its time to go beddy bye.

For those who dont know what TATW is, its a medevil 2 modification that is set in Tolkein's middle-earth.

Anyway, in a year when I graduate, maybe ill have more time in college to figure out animation, but in a year, the next elder scrolls may be out. Please take this challenge up guys, ive been wanting this for a long time. :thanks:

Yeah! At last someone with taste of real style! I never liked Warrior in lore friendly Heavy Plate armor, with claymore holded in one hand + jumps and fantasy slashes in combat

maybe something like this? i like the way how red kilt one holding Bas.tard/ two handed sword in 0:22

Highlanders, Vikings/Nordic Warriors are the best base to make idels/animation for Oblivion

I would also be interested in seeing realistic, yet improved animations.

I know I can't stand the rediculous animations from DMC and I hate the vanilla ones.

Sadly I don't know how to animate.

How odd you claim for reality and want to mimic it from holywood. That video above isn't about fighting, it's just swords clashing for the show. And that weapon isn't a Claymore it's a longsword, I'm sorry I don't know it's specific name, it's translation from latin languages would be 'One-hand-and-a-half Sword', as it's hold with one hand while the other (only half hand) rotates round the bottom part to give the sword the right movement.

Here some videos for that kind of fighting:

I've been searching a bit but coudn't find some appropiate video to show the claymore combat techniques, but sure has nothing to do with that one from the video. Real life claymores are more similar to the big swords we have in oblivion. Normally they were as tall as the person who had to hold them, and must be hold with both hands, very heavy and very long, they were used kinda like a blunt weapon to smash and crash heavy armor and to deal with spearmans formations basically.

Finally, to make me clear, is all this topic about combat animations?

grmblf - As I said - Bas.tard sword (without dot). It can be used both - one and two handed, second hand is used for better precision of hits, and to make sword get tought skin and bones easly.

I know its sword cleasing, I'm in brotherhood and I know how real fight looks. I could make movie, but I have no time and record camera right now.

If You want to use secondary movie - please, make it brutal, technique have nothing to do in games like oblivion, technique is needed only when we want to dodge, block, force oponent to make a opening.

yes it is, and I know a perfect example of claymore use, play medevil 2, the animations in that game for claymores are realistic.

I don't need to see combat animations as it's not me who's planning to change the game that way, but if you still want some others do it for you the less you can do is to post a video showing the animations you want. Pal, it's not that you have to make a huge search if medevil 2 already have the anims you like.

@ Khaell: I missread your post, you pointed it out, just I thought you're talking about claymores. They also call'em bas@rds here I just didn't come up to that.
