Sniper's Hideout

Hey all,

 

I'm making a mod right now called Sniper's Hideout (title may change). The mod will feature a couple things including:

 

-a small (and I mean small house)

- the house will have a bed, an infirmary (looks like a medkit), a sniper decoration on the small, a flaming barrel for light (nothing special), two storage things, and a gun case with ammo crates in it.

-secret tunnels that lead to megaton, tenpenny tower, rivet city, and paradise falls (and possibly canterbury commons)

-stealth entrances into the cities

-all of these will be accessible from the hideout through a basement

- I'm also going to put a simple shooting range in

Last sreen shot. Now to my questions. What would you guys like to see? I'm not a scripter so it's hard for me to make anything too special. How would you guys like the tunnel system? What kind of secret entrances. Should you have too buy the house and basement? Things like that.

 

I also plan on combining this with a sniper overhaul that adds 5 different ammo types, 10 different scopes, night vision lens, special sniper bullet time, etc.

Looks like a cool mod. Doesn't seem very sniper-y, though. Maybe you could add in a part where you have to eliminate a bunch of guards or something at close range.

 

Also, what's the sniper overhaul mod you're combining this mod with? I assume you didn't make it yourself, as you said you aren't a good scripter. I know Pelinor's overhaul doesn't add NV Scopes or new ammo types.

Something at close range wouldn't be very snipery either =). The only reason I'm calling it a sniper's hideout is because I'm combining Pelinor's Sniper Overhaul (which btw, does have NV scopes and new ammo types, although I can't get the ammo to work.). If I can't get his permission to use it, I'm going to rename it to a thieve's or assassin's hideout (or something similiar).

If you look at the first picture with the (three?) pipes, the one pipe looks a little different. That's the entrance and the pipe on the wall is the exit out of the little house. I do need to shrink it down a considerable amount though so it matches the outside.

So far I got the hidden entrance to Tenpenny and Rivet City. Tenpenny's secret entrance/tunnel leads to the generator room and Rivet City's tunnel leads to the side of the ship (it's flooded but has air gaps to breath. After you get out of it, there is a ladder that leads to the upper deck. I'm working on the range right now. I'll upload a picture, but there is a high chance that the lay out will change, but tell me how the lighting is (too bright, dark, etc). I may make multiple ranges (after all, it is a sniper's hideout).

 

The big room (4th and 5th picture) seems a little empty to me. I plan on adding some targets for decoration, but what else would you guys find suitable for a stealth/sniper type character. A functional armory is pretty much a necessity, but I was also thinking about a cosmetic armory that has all the weapons in it, but you can't move/take them. But even then, it seems a little empty. So any suggestions would be appreciated.

I meant long range, not close. And I checked, Pelinor's overhaul does'nt add scopes or new ammo types. If you mean Shooter, that is. Cos that's the only Sniper Overhaul by him on the site. As far as I know, cos I'd like a link if it isn't.

Oddly enough I didn't catch the long-close mix up... I want to make this an addon to 72 Bunker. I already asked lostmisery about it and he said it would be cool. If I have the time to do that, I'm going to make a quest that you have to assassinate an enclave (or another faction) captain (preferably with a sniper...) and escape (there will be too many too kill them all unless you cheat) or something along those lines. Fun but simple. But I really don't know if I want to do that. I think it would probably be better to get this 100% stable and cool before I did anything drastic!

 

As for the Sniper Overhaul, it was an old one he had a while ago. Just download it from my mod (you'll need all the textures, meshes, and sounds) and activate just the Sniper Overhaul. I can't seem to find the rapidshare link I downloaded it from a couple weeks ago.
