Ambitious Mod Project 2: The Vault-Spacecraft

The Plan: The Ptolomios Vault-Spacecraft has crashlanded in the wasteland somwhere outside the range of the town of Greenfield (See Tony's Dynamic Town Mod for information: http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?showto...722&st=100) Three raiders will have you chase them to the location before escaping, being the curious explorer that you are, you enter. Inside you will be introduced to the designs and experiments of Nicolai Schindler. Aside from the many treasures the ship will have to collect (And Defense Drones to fight) there will be several scattered books and Audio logs explaining the history of Nicolai and his plans and eventually those of his apprentice ending when the ship meets its end by crashing into the wasteland. Later you will also have the opportunity to fight the raiders who you chased before, killing them will earn you some of their weapons and technology.*

 

*Several names and designs are based from Gundam 00 as I am a huge fan.

What the mod will Include:

 

The Ptolomios Vault-Spacecraft facility to roam around and explore.

 

2 New creature models to fight (Automation and Varanus).

 

Astraea power armor equipped with Laser Bazooka, Laser Assault Rifle, Short Broadsword, Heavy Zweinder Sword.

 

Exia power armor equipped with Heavy Zweinder Sword, Bayonet, Knife, Claymore, Katana, Short Broadsword, Long Broadsword.

 

Dynames power armor equipped with Laser Sniper Rifle, Laser Pistol, Hunting Knife.

 

Kyrios power armor equipped with Laser Assault Rifle, Grenade Launcher, Long Broadsword.

 

Nadleeh power armor equipped with Long Broadsword, Short Broadsword, Laser Assault Rifle.

 

Virtue power armor equipped with Rocket Launcher, Long Broadsword, Plasma Bazooka.

 

Abraham character added to Greenfield town.

 

May West character will now vist Greenfield.

 

Troy Walker will now visit Greenfield.

 

3 new Boss characters. John, Michael, and Nina raiders added to the Faction.

 

Eins armor equipped with Radiation Beam Rifle (Must be raided after killing John).

 

Zwei armor equipped with Custom Rail Spike 5-way Shot, Heavy Zweinder Sword. (Must be raided after killing Michael).

 

Drei armor equipped with Laser Machine Gun (Must be raided after killing Nina).

 

Exia R2 power armor can be obtained once you complete the "I AM EXIA!" quest. It doubles the original Exia stats, has minor cosmetic changes to the design and gives you the RN type Heavy sword which irradiates enemies on impact (as well as causing much heavier damage than the original Exia's Heavy Zweinder Sword.

 

The Greenfield blacksmith can take the Eins, Zwei, and Drei armors and combine them into the Arche Power armor which will have all the positive traits of the three armors.

 

Reborn and Gundam 00 armors added only for "Content Providers" who will earn one or the other based on their Kharma. Gundam 00 Equipped with RN type Heavy sword, Sniper Rifle, Assault Rifle, Claymore, Katana, Short Broadsword, Long Broadsword. Reborn equipped with Prototype energy saber, Beam Bazooka, Energy Rifle, Flamethrower, Electric Gauntlet, Custom 7-Way Railspike Gun, Radiation Gun.

 

*All weapons and armors are custom, their stats will differ from similar weapons in the main game. (For example the Plasma Pistols in this Mod).

Important names and terms:

 

Nicolai Schindler - Inventor of perpetual generation device, designer of the Ptolomios spacecraft, created "Brain Case" A.I. Designed GN- type power armors. Began genetics work aboard Ptolomios to evolve humankind. Believed that mankind should be improving upon their world rather than fighting each other. When the wars came and all seemed hopeless he abandoned the Earth. He beleives all humans could evolve naturally.

 

Ptolomios Vault-Spacecraft - Planned and built by Nicolai Schindler's team of scientists while working for Vault-Tec it is meant to be a space colony where residents will live in a vault-like structure in actual orbit around the Earth. It is scedualed to return to Earth 200 years after its launch (Though it is unsure if Nicolai changed this when he prematurely launched the ship into orbit.)

 

Celestial - The next evolution of mankind, thier DNA is heavily modified in which they are immune to radiation and any form of mutations, and their aging process is drastically slowed. The First Generation is meant to guide humankind along to their own evolution, while the Second Generation is created as a test to see if humans can evolve.

 

Perpetual Generator - A Nuclear/Solar reactor designed and heavily used by Nicolai Schindler. It primarily runs by Solar Power but contains a Nuclear backup which can allow it to run for up to a week without any sunlight. The Larger Model meant for Celestial Prime can only function at optimum capacity for a day without sunlight.

 

Raphael Marx - Schindler's apprentice, believes humans need to be destroyed to make way for a new superior species. He designs weapons for the GN- type power armors to the annoyance of his master. He is also responsible for the development of Celestial Prime (based on Liberty Prime using Schindler's innovations in weaponry and energy generators). He claims it's safer to send a large armored robot to an uncharted planet than humans at first in case the planet proves dangerous. He's really planning to use the machine for more sinister means. (Using it to break into the remaining Nuclear arsenal and use it to wipe the world clean) He is the very first "Celestial". He later attempts to kill Shindler's brain which is part of the A.I. that controls the Ptolomios. But Shindler had this all planned out and Raphael is sealed in the control room as all emergency locks shut as the ship deactivates and plunges to the Earth. Raphael vanishes without a trace. (His screams are heard on the blackbox once the room is obtained)

 

Regina Robbins - A test-tube born first generation "Celestial". She is highly jealous of Raphael as Nicolai's "favorite" and is the only one to ever realize his sinister plans, but this leads to him having her killed in an "accident" involving the activation of his "Automation" drones.

 

Hannah Morris - A test-tube born first generation "Celestial". She is highly loyal to Nicolai's plans. She is killed in an explosion from the testing of the Astraea Power Armor after asking Raphael why they need weapons if their mission is for peace.

 

Rena Agnew - A test-tube born first generation "Celestial". She is the quiet scientist of the group and attempts to develop an A.I. unit for their power armors. The A.I. eventually causes her to go mad and commit suicide.

 

Thomas Arden - A test-tube born current generation "Celestial". He is created from the mixed DNA of the first generations. Like all the others he is killed when the Ptolomios crashes to Earth

 

Lucas Dillinger - A test-tube born current generation "Celestial". He is the first "Original" as he is not comprised of recycled DNA. Like all the others he is killed when the Ptolomios crashes to Earth

 

Adam Hephburn - A test-tube born current generation "Celestial". Medical records discuss his slow development of multiple personality disorder. Like all the others he is killed when the Ptolomios crashes to Earth

 

Abraham F. Ismael - A resident of the Ptolomios and current generation "Celestial". It is revealed in logs aboard the crashed ship that he was created as the link between man and "Celestial" to pave the way for their evolution. When Raphael attempts his takeover Abraham dons an Exia suit to confront the traitor. But on his way to the bridge the locks seal shut trapping him in the hallway. As the Ptolomios crashes to Earth the hallway he is in gets crushed along with much of the lower right side of the ship leaving him gravely wounded and suffering from amnesia. However the collapsing side of the ship allows him to fall free where he is found by a wandering salesman and taken to the nearest town (Greenfield) for medical attention. Here he works as a gaurd to protect the town as thanks for saving him until his memory re-awakens. Remembering Raphael mentioned he was planning to take the United States Capital, Abraham goes to confront him in which he is killed by the Enclave (unless you're past the friend stage with him on the Dynamic Town DLC, in which you can convince him to stay)

 

Maria Slater - A test-tube born current generation "Celestial". She is born mute and talks through use of a computer (some of which dailogues are recorded.) Like all the others she is killed when the Ptolomios crashes to Earth

 

Gina Grace - A test-tube born current generation "Celestial". Like all the others he is killed when the Ptolomios crashes to Earth

 

Floris Hammond - A test-tube born current generation "Celestial". Like all the others he is killed when the Ptolomios crashes to Earth

 

Rosa Lindburg - A test-tube born current generation "Celestial". Like all the others he is killed when the Ptolomios crashes to Earth

 

Varanus - Attack drones designed by Raphael Marx, they are human in shape and size and contain limited A.I. which are linked to a collective intelligence.

 

Celestial Prime - Nicolai Schindler's plans to fix the design problems plaguing the creation of Liberty Prime. He takes the plans with him into orbit only to ensure his design is never used as a weapon. After Schindler's death and completion of the "Celestials" Raphael Marx begins the construction of Celestial Prime which is never completed due to the Ptolomios crashing, though parts (such as the Torso) can be found in one of the Hangars while exploring the ship.

Timeline:

 

2038 - Nicolai Schindler is born.

 

2059 - Nicolai is hired by Vault-Tec.

 

2062 - Construction of the Ptolomios "Vault-Spacecraft" begins.

 

2068 - Nicolai completes his very first "Perpetual Generator" prototype though he keeps his work secret from Vault-Tec

 

2070 - Construction of the Ptolomios "Vault-Spacecraft" ends.

 

2073 - An official crew is established to work and live aboard the Ptolomios Spacecraft.

 

2075 - Nicolai Schindler is scedualed to begin helping with the development of Liberty Prime as the crew has hit a major design snag. His contract with Valt-Tec is switched for one with the United States Government.

 

2077 - Nicolai decides to abandon his work for the United States government and departs for space on the Ptolomios Spacecraft earlier than schedualed. Nicolai keeps copies of the Liberty Prime plans he made, not wanting his work to be used in such a weapon.

 

2080 - The Ptolomios is damaged by an Enclave satalite, Brock Turner goes out in a spacesuit to repair the damage but complications with Early spacesuits cause him to suffocate.

 

2088 - The Crew of the Ptolomios successfully design and create a more effecient pressurized space suit, though it requires an umbilacal cable from the ship.

 

2090 - Initial building of the Ptolomios' "Colony mode" is complete.

 

2091 - A Garden is completed to help with Oxygen and Carbon Dioxide levels in the ship.

 

2095 - Nicolai helps deliver the first child born on the Ptolomios, however complications arise and the infant dies. Nicolai begins work on an "Environmental Control Chamber" which can replicate Earthlike conditions which might be neccessary for developing infants in space.

 

2097 - Nicolai completes his first "Environmental Control Chamber"

 

2099 - Nicolai manages to accurately splice a fragment of his own DNA leading to several breakthroughs in his genetic research.

 

2100 - Nicolai completes his "Youth Serum" for unknown reasons 1/4 of the crew dies upon taking it. This sparks a fight aboard the ship where at least 3 are shot and killed. Nicolai locks himself away to delv further into his research without having to involve himself with the others.

 

2122 - All but Henrietta Marx and Nicolai are now dead, Henrietta confesses her love for Nicolai and they make love. Despite this Nicolai becomes more and more detached from her and more enamored with his studies.

 

2123 (late) - Henrietta Marx confirms she is pregnant and enters an Environmental Control Chamber. Nicolai reads to her every day as she is not allowed to leave the chamber during the preganancy.

 

2124 - Raphael Marx is born, unlike any future "Celestials" Raphael has a mother (Henrietta Marx)and is born naturally. Though do to many genetic experiments the mother goes mad and commits suicide (Perhaps due to the Youth Serum as she should have been too old to have kids). This devastates Nicolai. He begins to keep audio logs regarding his plans and findings.

 

2129 - Regina Robbins is born, like all "Celestials" she is born from a test tube as opposed to normal parents.

 

2131 - Hannah Morris is born, like all "Celestials" she is born from a test tube as opposed to normal parents.

 

2132 - Rena Agnew is born, like all "Celestials" she is born from a test tube as opposed to normal parents.

 

2150 - Nicolai Shindler completes work on his A.I. system for the Ptolomios which is directly linked to his brain.

 

2157 - Nicolai Schindler officially dies giving up all his research and projects to his apprentice Raphael Marx. Schindler's brain powers the A.I. system of the Ptolomios to ensure everything remains to follow his plans.

 

2215 - The prototype Astraea power armor is completed. Hannah Morris is killed when an oxygen leak catches a spark from the reactor causing an explosion. This leads to much redesigning of the Energy reactor and life support systems of the suit.

 

2217 - The Astraea power armor is completed and tested successfully. The new redesign is used as a basis for the future GN Model power armors.

 

2219 - The Exia model power armor is completed and tested. Initial runs prove successful

 

2220 - The Dynames, Kyrios, and Nadleeh model power armors are completed, initial tests on Nadleeh result in Rena Agnew's insanity and eventual suicide. It is determined that there were problems with the installed A.I. (The others do not opperate by A.I.)

 

2222 - The Virtue model power armor is completed and initial tests run smoothly, A.I. is removed from the Nadleeh model.

 

2230 - A Better A.I system is implemented into the Nadleeh armor.

 

2235 - Advanced weapons compatable with the special GN reactors are completed by Raphael Marx.

 

2250 - Marx begins his plans to take over Earth and eleminate all life on the planet. "Automation" attack drones are built. Regina Robbins realizes Marx's plans and tries to kill him but Raphael traps her in the test zone for the drones and claims her death as an accident.

 

2253 - Thomas Arden is born, though he is made using recycled DNA from previous generation "Celestial", like all "Celestials" he is born from a test tube as opposed to normal parents.

 

2254 - Lucas Dillinger is born, like all "Celestials" he is born from a test tube as opposed to normal parents. He is in fact the first "Original" to be born from mixing of genetic traits as opposed to being an identical clone from other celestials. These traits dilute the modified DNA making him more "human' than the first generation "Celestials".

 

2255 - Adam Hephburn is born, like all "Celestials" he is born from a test tube as opposed to normal parents. 2259 - Rosa Lindburg is born, like all "Celestials" she is born from a test tube as opposed to normal parents. 2263 - With completion of "Project Celestial" Raphael Marx begins the construction on Celestial Prime, based off copies of the blueprints for Liberty Prime.

 

2265 - Completion of the "Varanus" attack drones.

 

2273 - After Sabotage from Raphael Marx The Ptolomios Crashes in the Wasteland. Abraham F. Ismael is found and taken to Greenfield with amnesia. All others aboard are killed, Marx is unaccounted for.

 

2276 - A small team from The Faction (From Tony's Dynamic Town DLC) discovers the Ptolomios but only manages to shoot down and retrieve parts from 3 security drones.

 

2277 - Events of Fallout 3 Take Place. Three raiders from the Faction lead the Lone Wanderer to the crashed Ptolomios in attempt to have him/her gather the technology or take out the drones for them. In which they plan an ambush on the Lone Wanderer and attack him upon leaving the ship.

I borrowed several ideas from Gundam 00 but only as a loose basis as I don't want to make it an "Anime Mod", so I can't take full credit for everything.

 

The Three Raiders will have you chase them, but just when you think you've caught up to them, they manage to escape, leaving you alone near the ship, and being the curious explorer that you are, you'll probably be tempted to go inside. Which coincidentally is exactly what the raiders want you to do as they are planning an ambush to take your stuff once you get the stuff they want from the ship.

 

My timelines are consistant with Fallout Cannon right? that's my first goal is to avoid messing with the Cannon story and timeline.

He develops a youth serum that somehow mutates his DNA reverting him to a younger form, and no I'm not making excuses, the serum is important as he uses the same formula before the birth of each "Celestial" which makes them all age slowly (Note Raphael Marx also lives more than 100 years, and Nicolai impregnates Raphael's mother when he is around 60, but after taking the youth serum)

 

Yeah, I don't want my mods to be "just vanilla" mods. I love power armors so my main goal was to make a lot and then give reason to why they exist.

 

As of right now I know I can at least get the power armors and ship completed but as far as scripting and making quests I may need some help (and eventually voice acting but it's still far from that point).

I'd be honored to assist in any way that I can, however, as I am inexperienced with the Gundam series I am curious as to how this will work. I like the idea you've got going here, but I don't like that it's dependent upon the mod being made by Tony. I'll read up some more on the mod and think of suggestions/additions assuming you're still interested.

Really, I'm only having fun trying out making stuff (I love power armors). And Tony is a close friend of mine so I'd rather use my mods to help progress his work in any way I can, by either adding content or by practicing skills on modding so I'll know how when I start working on his mod.

 

You don't have to be familiar with anything Gundam to help, in fact I'm trying to further myself from the Gundam story as much as possible and make this mod into something of my own creation, Gundam was just an inspiration. BTW, got any good names for the "Celestials"? I'm not to fond of the name for them right now, sounds too corny.

 

Oh, and on another note here's a rendering of what I've got so far on the Power Armors. This one is on its way to becoming the Exia. (The awkward protrusions on the forarms are just the base body I'm using to keep proportions accurate, the base isn't streight up and down and it's easiest to model streight up and down)

I'm not sure if you meant the "Names" of the "Celestials" or if you just want to change the name "Celestials" to something completely different. If the last is the case, then here are a couple I can think of off the top of my head:

 

1. The Ageless

2. Secon-gen (Second Generation Humans)

3. The Verboten (German for Forbidden, some would argue that their existence is against "God's" will, and I use that term loosely to avoid any religious debate as I am one of my own religion.)

4. The Reborn

5. Mortal Deities

6. The Endura (a basis of the word Endurance, meaning "bearing hardships, staying power.")

7. Eternals

8. The Amaranths (a synonym for The Immortals)

9. Unsterblichen (German for The Immortals)

10. The Unfading

 

*Assuming that these names are relevant, my personal favorite would be "The Endura" sounds a little more science fiction which is what this mod is about. And it sounds original.

On a side note, I understand your friendship with Tony to be an inspiration to your modding, but perhaps you could make a mod that compliments his, and release one that could be stand alone for those like myself at the same time. I can't say I'm too fond of the armor, though if you're basing it off something I must say it looks rather interesting. I am just, myself, not a fan of boxy looking armor. But furthermore, I wish you good luck on what ever you're working on now, and let me know if I can be of assistance.
