Damage and Resistance types?

I've done some forum searching but came up empty.

I'm likely not the first to ask about this, but are there any mods for Fallout 3 that break down the damage and resistance types into categories similar to that of the first two games? Every piece of armor in the original Fallout had stats that gave you an idea how easily it would withstand damage from different kinds of weapons. A guy in biker jacket would faint at the first sign of a big hammer, while a Power Armor wearer would brush off bullets and utterly ignore unarmed opponents who tickled for zero damage.

I'll admit, I'm using the FWE mod, so enemies don't fool around and death can be rather swift. I can understand crossing into the next world after a couple of steel-warping plasma hits to the face, but there's something fundamentally wrong raider knives and bullets passing through my power armor like butter.

Where is that 'multi-spectral' damage calculation that worked so well in the original games? Is such a thing even possible in Fallout 3?

the damage resistances and types, as well as other enchantments to your armor can be modified in the Object Effect list. Armor with special stats is linked to an Object Effect. In the Object effects list, look for the armor enchantment for that piece in question and open it up. You can add things to the list or edit existing effects. (ie. Add poison resistance, rad resistance, etc.)

I believe all melee dmg is defined as generic "damageresist", as well as all bullets and explosives unless they are specially defined.

in a weapons stats, that is where you specify what type of resists would hamper the weapon.
