Why are Deathclaws so damn deadly?

Well, you can just stay clear and put them down in 1 bullet with the sniper rifle, so their damage is not much of a problem. Plus, pretty sure 1 deathclaw always lose vs 2 cazadors. Those flies are the real horror of the wasteland, since they're fkin hard to hit and the damage almost as big as a deathclaw. Oh and btw, the Archimedes does like 150 damage, compare to 350 damage by a lv45 normal deathclaw.

Kinda limits the game for unarmed and melee players though, doesn't it.

I'm pretty certain that's due to the poison, as the Legendary Cazador has less melee damage than a run of the mill Deathclaw. With a high or maxed Poison Resist, they're basically just big mosquitos.

I know, that's what I'm saying. Deathclaws are over twice as damaging as the Sun.

You'll get no disagreements from me. It's so cheap the way they put up a bunch of invisible walls and 9 foot monsters just to try and force you to do their main quest. Probably because that's all there is to the game. That and faction quests. Once you've done those, you're pretty much out of things to do. A handful of city quests.
