oh... dr.10w30... did you find and play the fishing academy mod... it has an interesting system in which you can steer your own rowboat and your own full sized ship... it is somewhat buggy... but it is worth checking out and could prove to be a quite useful tuturial (I know i can't spell... i am dislexic)

I played chrono trigger. That game is beautiful :blink: weight a minute I mean it's hard and mean :angry: ! I didn't want to lose my masculine point of view. But yes I played the fishing Academy but also someone is making a gallium mod which adds a pirate gallium. I was pondering where should we put the pirate islands.I was thinking somewhere around the ghost sea. Maybe we could have two islands side-by-side and the Imperial would own one island of the the Pirates would own the other one.

yes... this pirate gallion mod sounds interesting... oh... we have should do somthing with the stretch between seyda neen and hla oad... that is my favorite place on the whole island of morrowind... like have a retired pirate who can train you and give you pointers about being a pirate.

I too like your pirate idea, however, I can see a lot of technical difficulties with it. Your first post mentions cruising around with your pirate ship and attacking Imperial ships. None of the boats in MW work that way because it is very difficult to implement in a scripting sense. That's why the only option you have on the boats is Fast Travel which is definately not the same as real time cruising around.

 

There is one mod I know of that addresses real time cruising on the water. It is called Fishing Academy and was authored by MADMAX. Personally, I think it's an excellant mod and I've really enjoyed playing with it. The latest version is 1.3.1029 and I gather he's been working on it for sometime. I suggest downloading the latest version of the mod and taking a good look at the scripting. If you can't find the mod here, try MW Summit. You might also want to consider asking the author of the mod for some advice as that type of scripting is way over my head. I only know very basic scripting. I can also do dialog, exteriors, interiors, landscaping and have been told that I'm a pretty good writer so I guess I could help out with story lines as well if you need it.

 

One thing about the Fishing Academy mod that was a pain was that, for some reason, MADMAX had to make use of the mark/recall function in his scripts and that made one unable to use mark/recall in normal way. There is a plugin for the Fishing Academy Mod that addresses this issue. It is called FA_Door_Upgrade and was authored by Aftershock 81. You might want to download that mod to.

 

One last suggestion: I have a model on my harddrive called Galleon that was done by dongle. I can't remember where I downloaded it from but the model is of an Elizabethean Galleon reminiscent of the three masted sailing ships that prowled about the oceans in and around the 1500's. There's actually three models in total in the plugin; an exterior with sails unfurled, and exterior with sails rolled up and an interior. The read me with the mod says that people are free to use the model as long as dongle gets credit for it and you give him a heads up that you're using it. You might want to download the Galleon mod to. If you can't find it, I'm sure I could find a way to get it to you.
