thebeast505
Well first of all i have a Decent rig that i know can handle skyrim.I7 3770k16gb RAM 18662 TB HDD64GB SSD (with skyrim on it)750w PSUGTX 780 SuperclockedGigabyte GA-Z87x-D3H Z87 - I play on a fresh install of skyrim with all my mods loaded in Mod organizer which if you don't know, has a "virtual" data directory that it loads the mods from so they aren't actually in my data folder overwriting anything. - I have alll the Official DLC latest SKSE, all LEGAL versions. -I have only about 20 or so Mods active, none of which are graphic mods, they are just addons' houses, spells, etc... -I love house mods but whenever i download most of them, any that are pretty big when i go to the house it STUTTERS, i mean i don't know why its like the game hates me, every house that i think looks nice stutters and i can't play with stutter its terrible. Everyone else says it works fine for them , examples are Sjel Blad Castle, stutters at the front gate when i look at the stable area.http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/41612/? Jarl of Ivarstead mod, stutters everytime i look up at or near the castle, especially the center parthttp://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/51633/? Riverhelm, in the market section major stutter, and outside just walking around normall at the front gates stutter.http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/16374/? I play on a HDTV by Sansui, using a standard HDMI cord plugged into my GPU, ive tried differant cords and differant TV's as well no luck, i don't know if switching to a PC monitor would change anything but i doubt it. I honestly have no idea what is wrong, i have the newest GPU driver (not beta) and use BOSS for my load order. i just am a bit upset that i spent all this money (that i worked hard to get) and then end up with a imperfect experience, i have been dreaming of getting a gaming PC since i was 7 and when i finally get one, well this happens. If anyone can help i really need it, if you need any more information please ask.
chanchan05
Well, Skyrim stutters on overly high FPS rates, and judging from your system it's probably that (too powerful LOL). So you either get more script mods and texture packs to lower FPS or put an FPS cap and FPS clamp.
thebeast505
Well i have Vsync on in the nvdidia control panel, also i just tried- running skyrim from default launcher, no SKSE mods only 1 mod active to test (jarl of ivarstead) still stuttered at the castle, so its not my mod loader. -tried disablign all mods except that one in the mod loader, still did it, so its not a mod conflict - i have vsync on so that should help, All settings on the launcher maxed except FXAA because i don't know what that is. chanchan05
What FPS are you running?
vlaka
use the nvidia inspector fps limiter and you could add this line to the [DISPLAY] part of skyrim.ini ifpsclamp=55 or whatever you have your fps clamped atTry the fps limiter first though. IF the mods you're using havent been updated in yonks i'd say theyre either full of dirty edits, not optimised or just bad. Avoid them and the headaches ;)
thebeast505
But the thing is I tried this on a new install with only one mod, become jarl of ivarstead by locaster and I'm sure his mods are clean
chanchan05
Look, let's put it this way. If you have Skyrim running at above 60FPS, with mods, you are likely to stutter and crash AFAIK. The problem is that when you have scripted mods, if you run at 60FPS, you're only giving 15ms to the mods to run their scripts. When you go higher, you are decreasing the time for the scripts to fire, and I think this causes a problem. That's why it's best to stay between 55 and 35. So again, what FPS are you playing at? I would think that a GTX 780 can run vanilla Skyrim at over 60FPS, then you have it overclocked.
thebeast505
I have vsync on, capped at 60 FPSI turned shadows from ultra to low and there is a significant improvementBut still some stutter in some cases such as from the top of the castle looking down. Is there anything else I can do?
chanchan05
What about your lowest FPS? Do a run through with an FPS counter and see your FPS range. If the range is huge (like 30-60FPS), that causes stuttering.
vlaka
read the authors sticky post on the mods page. He mentions that his mod may cause stutters and performance drops due to the amount of new assets and other mods people run.It has some suggestion you could try to help you. You might also try setting distant detail down to medium or low. I did that and my game is 100% smoother.
